Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.

Smith-method assessment of anterior chamber depth for screening for narrow anterior chamber angles

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2006
Purpose: To compare the axial anterior chamber depth (ACD) using the Smith method, in patients under treatment for primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG), with an age-matched control group.

Corneal topographic parameters changes after upper eyelid blepharoplasty: A prospective longitudinal study

open access: yesMedicine Science
In a six-month follow-up, we aimed to determine the upper eyelid skin-only excision blepharoplasty technique on corneal biomechanics. Corneal anterior and posterior surface keratometry values (flat, steep, and mean keratometry, minimum radius of ...

KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

Presumed sclerotomy site bleeding inflowing into the anterior chamber after the removal of a 23-gauge microcannula in 23-gauge sutureless vitrectomy

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2010
We experienced two cases of the influx of the sclerotomy site bleeding into the anterior chamber during 23-gauge sutureless vitrectomy for pseudophakic rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. Soon after the removal of a 23-gauge microcannula at the end of the
