Recent advances in anterior chamber angle imaging. [PDF]

open access: bronzeEye (Lond), 2020
Differentiating the two main forms of primary glaucoma (open-angle and closed-angle glaucoma) depends on the correct assessment of the anterior chamber angle (ACA). This assessment will determine the management plan and prognosis for the disease. The standard method of examining the angle has been, for many years, slit-lamp gonioscopy.

Anterior Chamber Angle Assessment Techniques: A Review. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Clin Med, 2020
Assessment of the anterior chamber angle (ACA) is an essential part of the ophthalmological examination. It is intrinsically related to the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and has a role in its prevention. Although slit-lamp gonioscopy is considered the gold-standard technique for ACA evaluation, its poor reproducibility and the long learning curve

Role of Optical Coherence Tomography in Assessing Anterior Chamber Angles [PDF]

open access: goldJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2016
Introduction: Gonioscopy is the gold standard in assessing anterior chamber angles. However, interobserver variations are common and there is a need for reliable objective method of assessment. Aim: To compare the anterior chamber angle by gonioscopy

Anterior chamber angle in the exfoliation syndrome [PDF]

open access: bronzeBritish Journal of Ophthalmology, 1985
The gonioscopic findings of 76 patients with the exfoliation syndrome were reviewed. A high frequency of narrowness of the anterior chamber (AC) angle was found (32%). 18% had angles considered occludable, and 14% had obvious angle-closure glaucoma as shown by the presence of peripheral anterior synechias (PAS).
