The effect of pharmacologic pupillary dilatation on anterior segment parameters in patients with exfoliation syndrome

open access: yesJournal of Optometry, 2014
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of pharmacologic pupillary dilatation on anterior chamber depth (ACD) and anterior chamber angle (ACA) in eyes with exfoliation syndrome (XFS). Methods: Thirty-six eyes of 36 patients with XFS

Dual‐Layer Living Hydrogel Enables On‐Demand Delivery of Phages and Probiotics for Synergistic Wound Infection Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐layer living hydrogel, ProΦGel, integrates bacteriophages and probiotics for synergistic wound infection therapy. The outer gelatin‐based matrix releases phages on demand in response to P. aeruginosa infections, while inner alginate beads sustain probiotic delivery.

Association between refractive errors and ocular biometry in Iranian adults

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmic & Vision Research, 2015
Purpose: To investigate the association between ocular biometrics such as axial length (AL), anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness (LT), vitreous chamber depth (VCD) and corneal power (CP) with different refractive errors.

Self‐Feeding of Engineered Tissues via Controlled Glucose Release Facilitates Survival and Vascularization of Living Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Engineering living matter has great clinical potential to deliver functional replacement organs. However, clinical translation remains hampered by the current inability to maintain viability of clinically relevant‐sized constructs. During the pre‐vascular phase, implants rely on nutrient diffusion for survival, which is insufficient at ...

Understanding the Role of Superhydrophobicity and Superhydrophilicity in Salt‐Spray Corrosion of Nanosecond Pulsed Laser‐Textured AA2024 Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanosecond pulse laser texturing yields superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic AA2024 surfaces. Salt‐spray tests show that periodic superhydrophobic patterns suppress pitting, whereas superhydrophilic textures enhance it, linking laser‐induced morphology, wettability, and oxide chemistry to corrosion resistance.

Altered anterior segment biometrics in cataract patients with retinitis pigmentosa: a propensity-matched analysis suggests patterns of zonular weakness [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ
Purpose To explore the spatial structure of the anterior segment biometrics in cataract patients with retinitis pigmentosa (RP). Methods This is a retrospective study. We conducted a propensity score matching analysis (1:3) on anterior segment data of RP

Beyond the Edge: Charge‐Transfer Excitons in Organic Donor‐Acceptor Cocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Complex excitonic landscapes in acene–perfluoroacene cocrystals are unveiled by polarization‐resolved optical spectroscopy and many‐body theory. This systematic study of a prototypical model system for weakly interacting donor–acceptor compounds challenges common views of charge‐transfer excitons, providing a refined conceptual framework for ...
