Aneurysm of the Anterior Communicating Artery
1968Publisher Summary In many cases the bleeding from a ruptured aneurysm is of such a degree and so severe that the patient is beyond any kind of useful therapy. However, in most cases the clinical picture indicates therapeutic steps to be taken, the purpose of which might be to eliminate a life-threatening intracranial hypertension or to evacuate a ...

Hemodynamic Study of the Anterior Communicating Artery
Stroke, 1996Background and PurposeThe anterior communicating artery (ACoA) is a site of predilection for intracranial saccular aneurysms causing subarachnoid hemorrhage. ACoA aneurysms are frequently associated with an asymmetrical circle of Willis. In such cases, the ACoA is probably exposed to high hemodynamic stress caused by a considerable shunt flow across ...

Ligation of an anterior cerebral artery for aneurysms of the anterior communicating artery complex
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1973✓ The clinical data on nine patients with aneurysms of the anterior communicating artery complex treated by ligation of an anterior cerebral artery are presented. The long-term follow-up angiograms on five of the eight patients who survived surgery are discussed.

Surgical Neurology, 1984
Two patients with ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysms associated with fenestration of the anterior cerebral artery are reported. In the literature, only 12 angiographic demonstrations of fenestration of the anterior cerebral artery have been reported.

Orbitocraniobasal approach for anterior communicating artery aneurysms
Neurosurgery, 1986Abstract We describe an orbitofrontotemporobasal craniotomy technique that allows excellent access to anterior communicating artery aneurysms. This orbitocraniobasal approach is particularly useful for the surgical treatment of ruptured aneurysms in the acute stage of subarachnoid hemorrhage, when retraction of the brain needs to be kept

Anterior Cerebral and Anterior Communicating Artery Aneurysms
1994Patients with anterior cerebral artery (ACA) and anterior communicating artery (AComA) aneurysms make up one third of all those presenting with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). In autopsy material, the incidence is lower, perhaps because the small lesion is not recognized as easily on gross dissections as it is on good quality angiograms.

Surgical Treatment of Aneurysms of the Anterior Communicating Artery
1968Publisher Summary The purpose of this report is to present results obtained by the Division of Neurological Surgery at the University of Rome with surgical treatment of aneurysms involving the anterior communicating artery. The investigation includes 45 consecutive patients operated upon prior to December 1965.
