High Detection Rate of Posterolateral Tibial Plateau Fractures and Poor Functional Outcomes in Type IIIB Impaction Fractures After Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rupture and Reconstruction

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 4, Page 1086-1094, April 2025.
This study reveals a significant incidence (41.6%) of posterolateral tibial plateau fractures in patients with ACL tears in East China. It highlights the prevalence of types IIIA and IIIB fractures, particularly in older females, and their correlation with reduced functional recovery post‐ACL reconstruction.

What Is the Optimal Position of Low Tibial Tunnel in Transtibial Posterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction? A Quantitative Analysis Based on 2D CT Images and 3D Knee Models

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 4, Page 1209-1219, April 2025.
This study aimed to perform the quantitative measurements of the optimal tangential low tibial‐tunnel (OTLT) parameters based on 2D CT images and 3D virtual knee models and expect to provide reference data for clinical creation of the OTLT during the arthroscopic transtibial PCL reconstruction. ABSTRACT Objectives There is currently no consensus on the

Posterolateral Tibial Plateau Fractures in Adult Anterior Cruciate Ligament Avulsion Effect on Postoperative Knee Function

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1359-1368, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Background The impact of posterior lateral tibial plateau fractures (PLTPFs) on knee joint stability after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction has garnered widespread attention. However, limited literature exists on the co‐occurrence of ACL tibial avulsion fractures (ACLAFs) and PLTPFs. The objective of this study is to investigate
