Peripheral calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor – Case report

open access: yesJournal of Oral Biology and Craniofacial Research, 2014
The calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor (CEOT), Pindborg tumor is a benign, slow growing, but locally invasive neoplasm. It is known to have a common intraosseous variant and a very rare extraosseous variant.

Flexural strength of mini-implants developed for Herbst appliance skeletal anchorage: a study in Minipigs br1 cadavers

open access: yesDental Press Journal of Orthodontics, 2013
OBJECTIVE: The present study was designed to verify if mini-implant prototypes (MIP) developed for Herbst appliance anchorage are capable of withstanding orthopedic forces, and to determine whether the flexural strength of these MIP varies depending on ...

BAP31 Drives Cartilage Calcification through Disruption of Autophagosome–Lysosome Fusion in Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical stress activates BAP31 in chondrocytes. BAP31 competes with ATG14 for binding to STX17, disrupting the STX17–ATG14 complex required for autophagosome–lysosome fusion. The resultant autophagic flux blockade drives the generation of autophagy‐derived exosomes, which mediate pathological cartilage calcification in OA. Chondrocyte‐targeted BAP31

Root‐Inspired Microneedle Patch With Interlocked Rigid‐Soft Architecture for High Tissue‐Adaptiveness

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A root‐inspired microneedle array patch uses lattice‐based mechanical interlocking to unite rigid microneedles with a flexible substrate. The interlocked rigid–soft architecture improves interfacial bonding, supports stable adhesion on curved and wet tissues under dynamic motion, and provides a versatile platform for robust biointerfacing and future ...

Arrayed Magnetic Accelerator Synergistically Enhances Orthodontic Tooth Movement via Microtubule Assembly‐Mediated Periodontal Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical orthodontic treatment for malocclusion is limited by slow remodeling and risks due to poor biomechanical sensing. This study shows that static magnetic fields (SMFs) enhance mechanical sensation in periodontal ligament cells, promoting inflammation and osteoclast activity.
