Impact of acceleration treatment on treatment plan and delivery qualities in tomotherapy for lung cancer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 26, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract Background Acceleration treatment (AT) is a novel treatment planning parameter introduced in the tomotherapy‐dedicated treatment planning system, Precision. This study explores the effects of AT on tomotherapy plans using helical (TomoHelical) and direct (TomoDirect) irradiation techniques.

Diagnosis and Treatment of Primary Tracheobronchial Tumors

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 9, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Primary tracheobronchial tumors (PTBTs) are rare but life‐threatening, accounting for approximately 0.2% of all respiratory neoplasms. Owing to their nonspecific clinical symptoms, PTBTs are often initially misdiagnosed as bronchial asthma or bronchitis in the early stages.

Regional End-Systolic Circumferential Strain Demonstrates Reduced Function in Remote Myocardium after Anterior STEMI [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Anterior ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is associated with severe adverse remodeling and increased mortality rates. In this study, anterior STEMI patients were treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention and then imaged with cardiac magnetic resonance 1-2 days later.

Consensus recommendations regarding local and metastasis‐directed therapies in the management of relapsed/recurrent Ewing sarcoma

open access: yesCancer, Volume 131, Issue 9, 1 May 2025.
ABSTRACT Limited randomized or prospective data are available to guide local/metastasis directed therapy (LMDT) in relapsed/recurrent Ewing sarcoma (RR‐ES), resulting in uncertainty regarding best clinical practice for these patients. This report reviews the available literature on LMDT approaches and provides consensus recommendations regarding ...

Optimizing information transmission in neural induction constrains cell surface contacts of ascidian embryos [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The onset of neural induction in the anterior ectoderm of ascidian embryos is regulated at the extracellular level by FGF signaling molecules, which control the acquisition of neural fate through the activation of the ERK pathway. Among the anterior ectoderm cells exposed to FGF, only a fraction will acquire neural fate.

Delayed Abscopal Response 3 Years After Robotic Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Renal Cell Carcinoma: A Case Report

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common malignant tumor of the kidney in adults, with poor prognosis in advanced or metastatic stages. Although traditionally considered radioresistant, RCC has shown a promising response to stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), which not only offers local tumor control but may also induce
