Hemangioma in the anterior mediastinum
The Japanese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2003Anterior mediastinal hemangiomas are very rare neoplasms in mediastinal tumors. A 58-year-old woman was revealed to have a mass measuring 4 x 3 cm in size in the anterior mediastinum with calcification on computed tomography. It was initially suspected to be a thymoma. We performed tumor extirpation in November 1998.

Ectopic pancreas in the anterior mediastinum
The Japanese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2005We report an uncommon clinical case of anterior mediastinal localization of ectopic pancreatic tissue. A 39-year-old male was referred to our institution for investigation of an abnormal mediastinal shadow on a chest X-ray, and a large cystic lesion measuring 10 x 8 cm located in the anterior mediastinum was observed on a computed tomographic scan.

A dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the anterior mediastinum
