Tunable Tactile Synapses Enabled by Erasable Doping in Iongel‐Gated Nanotube Network Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Artificial tactile synaptic sensors are realized by an iongel‐gated single‐walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) transistor with reversible doping characteristics. The device senses and memorizes tactile stimuli and exhibits gate bias‐dependent excitatory or inhibitory synaptic behavior.

The effect of treatment of skeletal open bite with two types of bite-blocks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The treatment of anterior skeletal open bite was studied in two groups of children. The children of one group wore a removable spring-loaded bite-block in the lower jaw for one year.

Roulette‐Inspired Physical Unclonable Functions: Stochastic yet Deterministic Multi‐Bit Patterning through the Solutal Marangoni Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Geometric multi‐bit patterning based on dynamic wetting and dewetting phenomena creates roulette‐like Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) labels with stochastic yet deterministic properties. This method leverages the solutal‐Marangoni effect for high randomness while achieving deterministic multinary patterns through polygonal confinement of binary ...

Long-term stability of an adult Class III open-bite malocclusion treated with multiloop edgewise archwire

open access: yesJournal of Dental Sciences, 2009
This case report describes the treatment of a 17-year-old girl with an anterior open- bite and Class III malocclusion, who had a history of thumb-sucking habit in childhood.

Cortical microtubule nucleation can organise the cytoskeleton of $Drosophila$ oocytes to define the anteroposterior axis [PDF]

open access: yeseLife 4, e06088 (2015), 2015
Many cells contain non-centrosomal arrays of microtubules (MT), but the assembly, organisation and function of these arrays are poorly understood. We present the first theoretical model for the non-centrosomal MT cytoskeleton in $Drosophila$ oocytes, in which $bicoid$ and $oskar$ mRNAs become localised to establish the anterior-posterior body axis ...

Autonomous Control of Extrusion Bioprinting Using Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a novel computer vision system for high‐fidelity monitoring of extrusion‐based bioprinting and a correction system utilizing convolutional neural networks for error mitigation. This system has demonstrated high detection accuracy and extrusion correction abilities that advance the state of the art toward accelerated printing ...

Breaking the Thumb Sucking Habit: When Compliance Is Essential

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry, 2016
The anterior open bite (AOB) and posterior cross bite are the most frequent malocclusions associated with prolonged sucking habits. This clinical case illustrates and discusses the use of a Haas-type palatal expander for stopping a thumb sucking habit ...

Biodegradable, Humidity‐Insensitive Mask‐Integrated E‐Nose for Sustainable and Non‐Invasive Continuous Breath Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a paper‐based biodegradable, humidity‐insensitive e‐nose for real‐time breath analysis, addressing challenges in existing technologies such as humidity interference, high costs, and environmental impact. Featuring hydrophobic polymer coatings, these sensors reliably detect VOCs even in high‐moisture environments.

Strain Partitioning at the Oxide Interface for the Isothermal Phase Transition in Freestanding Tri‐Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The metal–insulator transition temperature (TMI) is continuously tuned by the systematic change of relative thickness in VO2 and TiO2 films (tVO2/tTiO2${t_{{\mathrm{V}}{{\mathrm{O}}_2}}}/{t_{{\mathrm{Ti}}{{\mathrm{O}}_2}}}$) in freestanding TiO2/VO2/TiO2 tri‐layers.

Anterior open bite :causative factors and diagnosis [PDF]

open access: yesAl-Rafidain Dental Journal, 2011
The real difficulty behind the treatment of open bite is the easy relapse, for it has a multifactorial nature. Aim: The aim of this study is to compare the reliability of two differential ways in the diagnosis of the open bites, looking out for the causative factors, aiding in more specific treatment plan and less relapse.
