Composition and Resulting Band Alignment at the TiO2/InP Heterointerface: A Fundamental Study Combining Photoemission Spectroscopy and Theory

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The chemical composition and band alignment are systematically investigated at the TiO2/InP heterointerface. Thin TiO2 films are deposited by ALD on atomically ordered, P‐terminated p‐InP(100). By combining UPS, XPS, and ab initio molecular dynamics, the atomistic structure and electronic alignment are revealed.

LATARJET PROCEDURE ON ANTERIOR SHOULDER INSTABILITY IN PROFESSIONAL SOCCER PLAYERS [PDF]

open access: yesActa Ortopédica Brasileira
Anterior glenohumeral instability is a frequent cause of professional soccer players’ removal, reduced performance, and prolonged recovery. Players are subjected to intense physical contact and high performance, thus demanding lower rates of recurrence ...

Defects in Inorganic Mechanoluminescent Phosphors: Insights and Impacts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mechanoluminescence is attracting more attention recently, and defect dominates mechanoluminescence performances. Investigating how defects work in the mechanoluminescence process is crucial for elucidating its complex luminescence mechanism. This review aims to emphasize the fundamental role of defects in mechanoluminescence, which offers an ...

The pectoralis minor muscle and shoulder movement-related impairments and pain: Rationale, assessment and management [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The adaptive shortening or tightness of the pectoralis minor muscle (PMm) is one of the potential biomechanical mechanisms associated with altered scapular alignment at rest and scapular motion during arm elevation (scapular dyskinesis) in patients with ...

Enhancing the Photocatalytic Performance of Carbon Nitrides Through Controlled Local Structure Modification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work utilizes poly(heptazine imides) as a model system to demonstrate how fine‐tuning the crystal structure influences the photocatalytic properties of layered carbon nitrides in the hydrogen evolution reaction. In particular, the nature of rotational defects and the hydration shell of cations are key contributors to enhanced hydrogen evolution ...

Dynamic Anterior Stabilization with Hill‐Sachs Remplissage Can be Employed in Skeletally Immature Patients—Operative Technique

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery
Background Numerous studies indicate that glenoid bony augmentation raises the risk of complications during and after surgery. On the other hand, repairing the labrum alone in cases with subcritical glenoid bone loss results in recurrent instability and ...
