Mechanistic Insights Into Proton and Oxygen Transport Through Ultrathin Amorphous Al2O3 and Al2O3‐SiO2 Electrocatalyst Overlayers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Ultrathin amorphous alumina electrocatalyst overlayers block oxygen reduction while cathodic‐driven structural relaxation accelerates proton transport over time. By contrast, ultrathin aluminosilicate coatings allow proton permeation but cannot suppress oxygen.

Bilateral Fracture Dislocation of Shoulder: A Rare Case

open access: yesJournal of Orthopedics, Traumatology and Rehabilitation
Patients with seizure disorders are prone to sustain posterior shoulder dislocations. Atraumatic bilateral anterior dislocations have rarely been described in the literature.

The Role of Dynamic Solvent Swelling in Electrochemical Doping of Semiconducting Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Solvent swelling in organic electrolytes dynamically evolves during electrochemical doping of poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT); multiple polymers, ranging from highly regioregular to fully regiorandom, demonstrate how crystallinity controls swelling.

Supramolecular Nanoarchitectonics of PNIPAAM‐co‐MA and Imogolite to Obtain Thermoresponsive Clay Nanotubes Through Complexation Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The selective adsorption of anionic poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide)‐co‐methacrylic (PNIPAAM‐co‐MA) onto the external surface of imogolite nanotubes is driven by electrostatic attractions. The copolymer coating affects the surface charge, aqueous diffusion and self‐assembling of imogolite.

Pristine Interface between Lithium Lanthanum Zirconate and Lithium Manganese Oxide by Pulsed Laser Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Careful control of processing parameters yields bilayer films of the garnet electrolyte Li7La3Zr2O12:Ta and the cathode spinel LiMn2O4 with pristine interfaces. No interdiffusion of elements occurs and no interfacial phase forms. Because fully lithiated LiMn2O4 has a voltage of ≈3.7 V versus Li+/Li, the observation of a well‐defined interface indicates

Design of a Simple and Rugged Soft Polydimethylsiloxane‐Carbon Nanotube‐Graphene‐Based Composite Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This research presents an easy to fabricate, low‐cost, flexible piezoresistive deformation sensor comprised of a carbon nanotube, few‐layer graphene, and polydimethylsiloxane composite. The sensor detects deformations and vibrations up to 600 Hz with 0.1% strain sensitivity from stiff and soft targets in dry and wet environments.
