ANTERIOR DISLOCATION OF THE SHOULDER IN ELDERLY PATIENTS [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 1997
Of 545 consecutive patients with anterior shoulder dislocations, 108 (20%) were aged 60 years or more at the time of injury. We reviewed and radiographed 95 of these elderly patients after a mean follow-up of 7.1 years. Axillary nerve injuries were seen in 9.3% of the 108 patients, but all recovered completely in 3 to 12 months.

IMAGING IN ANTERIOR SHOULDER DISLOCATION

open access: yesIssues of Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics, Neurophysiology and Sport Promotion – IRONS, 2021
Shoulder dislocation is a very common musculoskeletal injury. Imaging in such cases serves an important role in the diagnostic and therapeutic process. Despite a pretty simple clinical diagnosis, the process itself is long for the patient and associated with multiple steps and decision making to regain function with low risk of prolonged disability ...

Direct Natural and Artificial Aging of Aluminum Alloy AlSi10Mg After Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser powder‐bed fusion of metals aluminum alloy AlSi10Mg has been directly aged. Artificial aging after natural aging is considered. The hardening potential is high for the top part of the samples as well as after short natural aging. The hardening potential is substantially reduced for the bottom part of the samples, as well as after natural aging of

Making Photoresponsive Metal–Organic Frameworks an Effective Class of Heterogeneous Photocatalyst

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes photoresponsive MOFs for photocatalytic applications, focusing on their capacity to enhance light harvesting, charge transfer, and surface reactions. While existing studies provide foundational insights, emerging characterization techniques enable a deeper understanding of photoresponsive MOFs.

Regulating the Interphase Strain in High‐Entropy Oxide Thin Films – An Approach to Attaining Giant Energy Storage Capability under Moderate Electric Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates an interphase strain engineering strategy to regulate capacitive energy storage performance in high‐entropy oxide thin films. Through introducing pyrochlore nanocolumns, the polarization response of perovskite unit cells is strengthened, yielding recoverable energy densities up to 93 J cm−3 with an efficiency of 83% under ...

Defect‐Free Block Copolymer‐Based Distributed Bragg Reflector for Optimized Light Harvesting in BiVO4 Photoanodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A solution‐processed distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) film, integrated via block copolymer (BCP) self‐assembly, enhances photon recycling in BiVO4 photoanodes for improved photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance. By tuning lamellar structures using lactic acid and cross‐linking density, the DBR film optimally shifts working wavelengths, boosting ...

Isolated Radial Nerve Palsy as a Complication After Anterior Dislocation of the Glenohumeral Joint: A Case Report and Clinical Review

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Medicine High Impact Case Reports, 2019
Shoulder dislocation is the most common feature in emergencies, while the anterior dislocation of the glenohumeral joint is the most frequent and requires reduction. Accompanied nerve injury is common with an incidence of 21%, while radial nerve palsy is
