Is anterograde amnesia a special case of retrograde amnesia?
Behavioral Neuroscience, 1983In anterograde amnesia, memory loss is obtained for events that occur subsequent to the traumatic insult. But because the effects of an anterograde agent or treatment usually last for minutes, or even hours, after the nominal training event, processing of information may be altered during the postacquisition period as well as during acquisition.

Neurology, 1988
Five patients with transient global amnesia (TGA) were given neuropsychological tests during and after their episode. During TGA, all patients were impaired on tests of new learning ability for both verbal and nonverbal material. Retrograde amnesia was patchy and covered a variable period of time before the onset of the episode: from about 36 hours in ...

Effects of Cholinergic Treatment on Posttraumatic Anterograde Amnesia
Archives of Neurology, 1982• The combined effects of orally administrated physostigmine salicylate and lecithin were assessed in a double-blind study of a single patient with post-traumatic amnesia. Treatment improved verbal but not visual memory. But storage and retrieval of words in verbal memory were facilitated, with the former effect being more robust.

Compulsive activity and anterograde amnesia after zolpidem use
Clinical Toxicology, 2007Zolpidem is a selective GABAAalpha1 receptor modulator used for its hypnotic-sedative properties. Zolpidem has side effects that are similar but not identical to the benzodiazepines. We report the first cases of compulsive activity combined with anterograde amnesia after the use of zolpidem.Three women experienced anterograde amnesia and compulsive ...

Publisher Summary A patient with anterograde amnesia is the one who is grossly deficient in the formation of new memories. The diversity of findings in the field of anterograde amnesias is related to the current content-based dividing of memory, the diversity of brain regions implicated in memory processing and the various time-dependent stages of ...

[Psychogenic Retrograde and Anterograde Amnesia].
Brain and nerve = Shinkei kenkyu no shinpo, 2019Patients with dissociative retrograde amnesia, under the influence of high stress, lose access to past autobiographical event memories that should have been remembered. Patients with dissociative anterograde amnesia cannot recall extremely emotional experiences.

Anterograde amnesia with oral lorazepam.
The Journal of clinical psychiatry, 1985Twelve healthy volunteers were enrolled in a double-blind placebo-controlled study to evaluate the amnestic effects of orally administered lorazepam. The subjects were tested for immediate and delayed recall, using a word recall memory task. The subjects taking lorazepam did not differ from subjects receiving placebo on immediate recall.

Anterograde amnesia with oral lorazepam.
The Journal of clinical psychiatry, 1984The use of intravenous benzodiazepines often results in amnesia for events subsequent to drug administration (anterograde amnesia). To asses the effects of oral administration, a single 2 mg dose of lorazepam was given to 6 normal subjects. No substantial effect on immediate recall of word lists was seen in comparison with 6 placebo control subjects ...

[Carbon monoxide intoxication and anterograde amnesia].
L'Encephale, 2009Carbon monoxide (CO) intoxication is still one of the most frequent conditions causing brain damage as a result of hypoxia in Morocco, and the main area of brain damage is the hippocampus. The role of the hippocampus in the memory process has been known for long and we usually associate hippocampus damage with anterograde amnesia.
