On Minds' Localization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004

Classic and recent advances in understanding amnesia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018

Rubrolides A, D, P, T, U: Total Syntheses and Antibacterial Evaluation of Highly Brominated Marine Natural Products

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Following the Danube Flow. The first total syntheses of highly brominated rubrolides T, U, and U‐analog, together with the efficient and divergent syntheses of rubrolides A, D, and P. The dibrominated key intermediate, obtained via a Suzuki‐Miyaura cross‐coupling reaction, is the centerpiece of the synthesis.

Connectivity-based parcellation of the thalamus explains specific cognitive and behavioural symptoms in patients with bilateral thalamic infarct [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A novel approach based on diffusion tractography was used here to characterise the cortico-thalamic connectivity in two patients, both presenting with an isolated bilateral infarct in the thalamus, but exhibiting partially different cognitive and ...

A mathematical model of forgetting and amnesia

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2013
We describe a mathematical model of learning and memory and apply it to the dynamics of forgetting and amnesia. The model is based on the hypothesis that the neural systems involved in memory at different time-scales share two fundamental properties: (1)

Noradrenergic mechanisms of arousal’s bidirectional effects on episodic memory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Arousal’s selective effects on cognition go beyond the simple enhancement of emotional stimuli, sometimes enhancing and other times impairing processing of proximal neutral information.

Profound Cognitive Impairment as a Salient Feature of Multiple Sclerosis: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Neuroimmunology, Volume 17, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment affects up to two‐thirds of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS); however, profound global deficits, defined as a full‐scale IQ below 70, are uncommon and rarely constitute the primary symptom. Case Presentation We describe a 27‐year‐old woman with severe multidomain cognitive impairment due to MS ...

Mimics and Diagnostic Pitfalls of Anti‐Adenylate Kinase 5 Limbic Encephalitis

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 1, January 2026.
Mimics of anti‐AK5 encephalitis are common and that misdiagnosis is often driven by non‐specific symptoms and clinically irrelevant antibody results. The absence of cognitive impairment as a major symptom, prominence of psychiatric and behavioral symptoms, isolated from serum positivity or low CSF antibody titers (< 1:100), and objective clinical ...

Transient global amnesia: clinical features and prognostic factors suggesting recurrence

open access: yesArquivos de Neuro-Psiquiatria
The risk of recurrence of new amnesia events in patients having previously experienced transient global amnesia (TGA) ranges between 2.9-23.8%. Objective: Our objective was to search for recurrence predictors in TGA patients.

Transient global amnesia: an uncommon presentation of acute myocardial infarction

open access: yesItalian Journal of Medicine, 2018
