Anatomical Consideration of the Anterolateral Ligament of the Knee

open access: yesBioMed Research International, 2019
Many researchers have studied the structures of the anterolateral part of the knee. Several researchers have investigated the existence of the anterolateral ligament (ALL) and its frequency has been inconsistently reported. Therefore, we assessed whether the ALL is the anatomical true ligament and studied the morphological variations of this structure.

Arthroscopic Three Hybrid Anchor Construct Fixation in Skeletally Immature Patients With Tibial Eminence Fractures

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract This article describes a surgical technique for skeletally immature patients with tibial eminence fractures of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) insertion. Owing to the distinct anatomical characteristics in skeletally immature patients compared with adults, we arthroscopically implanted a three hybrid anchor construct into the posterior ...

Surgical Technique for Revision of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction, Combined with Postero-Lateral Corner and Anterolateral Ligament Reconstruction Using the Same Femoral Tunnel for Reconstruction of These Structures

open access: yesOrthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine
Objectives The reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the most performed knee surgery in Brazil; consequently, the number of failures in this reconstruction has increased.

Does anatomic single-bundle ACL reconstruction using hamstring autograft produce anterolateral meniscal root tearing?

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, 2017
Background To determine if tibial tunnel reaming during anatomic single-bundle anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction using hamstring autograft can result in anterolateral meniscal root injury, as diagnosed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI ...

Lateral Extra‐articular Tenodesis Using Knotless All‐Suture Anchor Fixation With Suture Tape: A Modified Technique for Augmenting Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Lateral extra‐articular tenodesis has emerged as a valuable adjunct to anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction for mitigating residual rotational instability. We describe a modified lateral extra‐articular tenodesis technique utilizing an all‐suture knotless anchor with suture tape, which provides strong, flexible fixation with reduced soft ...

Surgical Treatment of Injury to the Posteromedial Meniscocapsular‐Extra‐articular Attachment Associated With Rupture of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Concomitant injuries are often present in the knee affected by anterior cruciate ligament injuries. Certain injuries are routinely identified, whereas others may be inadvertently neglected. Such injuries include lesions to the posteromedial meniscocapsular‐extra‐articular attachments.

Minimally Invasive Anterolateral Ligament Reconstruction in the Setting of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2016
Recent evidence on the anatomy, function, and biomechanical properties of the anterolateral ligament has led to the recognition of the importance of this structure in the rotational control of the knee.

Single‐Stage Repair of Complex Anterolateral Radial and Posterior Root Tears of the Lateral Meniscus, With a Concomitant Multiligament Knee Reconstruction of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament, Medial Collateral Ligament, Posterior Oblique Ligament, and Anterolateral Ligament in a Young Athlete

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Early meniscal repair and anatomic reconstruction in a multiligament knee injury optimizes outcomes and restores tibiofemoral mechanics. This technique describes a lateral meniscus posterior root and radial tear repair, with concomitant medial ramp repair, performed during single‐stage reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament ...

Lateral Extra-articular Tenodesis With Cortical Suspensory Femoral Fixation and Suture Tape Augmentation

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques
This article aims to provide a new surgical technique for rotational instability in the setting of anterior cruciate ligament rupture. Two main groups of surgical procedures can be identified in the treatment of anterolateral knee instability: lateral ...

Arthroscopic Assisted Acromioclavicular Joint Stabilization Using a Tensionable Suture Button Construct and Cerclage Tape Augmentation

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Surgical stabilization of the acromioclavicular joint can be achieved using a variety of techniques. Coracoclavicular fixation with tapes, sutures, and button systems is one of the surgical methods used to restore stability of the acromioclavicular joint. There is currently no definitive superior technique for acromioclavicular joint fixation,
