Antheridiogen activity of Anemia mexicana

Canadian Journal of Botany, 1982
Gametophytes of two populations of Anemia mexicana Klotzsch exhibited antheridiogen activity. All gametophytes grown as monospore cultures produced organized meristems and only archegonia, although spore size and days from sowing until germination, meristem organization, and archegonia formation varied. In multispore cultures, gametophytes were either

Antheridiogene in Anemia phyllitidisL. Sw. (Schizaeaceae) 2. Gaschromatographischer nachweis des antheridiogens AAn 1

Zeitschrift für Pflanzenphysiologie, 1977
Summary Relative retention time of the antheridiogen A An 1 to gibberellic acid is 1,2. The native hormone induces antheridia at 10 −9 g/ml.

Biological activity of antheridic acid, an antheridiogen of anemia phyllitidis

Phytochemistry, 1987
Abstract The biological activities of synthetic antheridiogen of Anemia phyllitidis , (±)-antheridic acid, and naturally derived antheridic acid with regard to induction of antheridial formation and dark spore germination in A. phyllitidis were closely similar. The activity of (±)-3- epi -antheridic acid was weaker than that of (±)-antheridic acid

A new antheridiogen from the fernPityrogramma calomelanos (L.) Link

Proceedings / Indian Academy of Sciences, 1985
A new antheridiogen fromPityrogramma calomelanos of the family Polypodiaceae (Sensu Bower) has been extracted and tested onPityrogramma calomelanos, Onychium siliculosum (Desv) C. chr, andOnychium japonicum (Thbg) Kze. The antheridiogen, here designated as Apit, did not produce uniform effect on the species tested.

Gas chromatographic evidence of the antheridiogen ofLygodium japonicum (ALY) (Schizaeaceae)

Experientia, 1978
The antheridiogen in culture medium ofLygodium japonicum was separated by GC. It shows different polarity compared withAnemia antheridiogens.

Antheridiogen and the breeding system in the fern genus Bommeria

Canadian Journal of Botany, 1978
Gametophyte morphologies and gametangial sequences in agar cultures of Bommeria species indicated developmental control by an antheridiogen system. The first gametophytes to develop were meristematic and archegonial with ameristic, exclusively antheridial plants appearing later in the same cultures.

Antheridiogen-like Activity of AC-94, 377, a Substituted Phthalimide

Zeitschrift für Pflanzenphysiologie, 1983
Summary AC-94, 377, a phthalimide derivative, induces antheridium differentiation and dark germination in Schizaeaceous ferns. The mutual specifities of the respective reactions in different assay systems as well as their time course rather indicate a direct interaction of the phthalimide with the receptor protein for the natural pheromone than a ...
