Chemical Constituents of Anthocerotophyta

There are 300 species belonging to the Anthocerotophyta (hornworts), but only a few species have been studied chemically. It is known that the chemical constituents of the Anthocerotophyta are very distinct from the other two classes, the Marchantiophyta and Bryophyta.

The genus Notothylas (Notothyladaceae, Anthocerotophyta) in Brazil

The genus Notothylas Sull. ex A.Gray is reviewed for Brazil based on type material, herbarium specimens and recent collections. Five species of the genus are recognized, Notothylas vitalii is synonymized with N. javanica and two species are new to science: Notothylas granulata sp. nov and N. vermiculata sp. nov.

A revision of the genus Notothylas (Notothyladaceae, Anthocerotophyta) in China

The genus Notothylas in China contains four species. One new species, Notothylas yunnanensis, is described and illustrated. The new species is characterized by each proximal spore surface with a small central hollow, irregularly arranged, rectangular to quadrate epidermal cells of the capsule, and absence of a special dehiscence line in the capsule.
