Natural variations in MdBPM2/MdRGLG3‐MdNAC83 network controlling the quantitative segregation of apple fruit storability

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
During postharvest cold storage of apples, the NAC transcription factor MdNAC83 binds to the promoters and activates the expression of downstream genes and is regulated by E3 ligases, which promote its ubiquitination and degradation. Genetic variants in MdNAC83 and its downstream genes form a network to regulate apple fruit storability.

Multi‐omics analyses shed lights on the evolution and fruit development of Chinese raspberries (Rubus spp.)

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
High‐quality genomes of four wild raspberry species, analysis of their genetic relationships, identification of centromeres as markers for tracing their hybrid origins, exploration of fruit quality regulation, and discovery of a gene blocking anthocyanin transport and thus causing yellow fruits provides valuable resources for raspberry breeding ...

The Evolution of Locally Adaptive Chromosome Inversions in Mimulus guttatus

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 20, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Chromosomal inversion polymorphisms are ubiquitous across the diversity of diploid organisms and play a significant role in the evolution of adaptations in those species. Inversions are thought to operate as supergenes by trapping adaptive alleles at multiple linked loci through the suppression of recombination. While there is now considerable

Genealogical Analysis of Replicate Flower Colour Hybrid Zones in Antirrhinum

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A major goal of speciation research is identifying loci that underpin barriers to gene flow. Population genomics takes a ‘bottom‐up’ approach, scanning the genome for molecular signatures of processes that drive or maintain divergence. However, interpreting the ‘genomic landscape’ of speciation is complicated, because genome scans conflate ...

Turnip Mosaic Virus Infection in a Perennial Arabidopsis Reduces Aphid Fecundity in the Natural Environment

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In plant–virus–vector tripartite relationships, it has been recognised that viral infections alter the physiological state of host plants, enhancing vector performance and facilitating virus transmission to other host individuals. Natural tripartite systems with perennial host plants are expected to persist for a long time through clonal ...
