No one‐size‐fits‐all: Trait‐dependent effects of local plant diversity on pollinators and pollination service in a densifying city

Bee community and trait‐based responses to fire in a Mediterranean landscape

Fire drives a short‐term increase in bee abundance and diversity, despite its strong negative impact on floral resources. Acting as an environmental filter, fire shapes bee communities as increased post‐fire fine‐scale heterogeneity favors bees with specific functional traits such as ground‐nesting and generalist species.

Landscape and local factors influence solitary bee nesting, but reported effects show little consistency across studies

Collectively, these findings indicate that agri‐environment schemes aiming to support solitary bees should integrate the provision of nesting resources with proximity to floral resources. The heterogeneity among studies highlights the need for solitary bee conservation measures to be tailored to local conditions and to the local fauna.
