2012Aborigines have inhabited Australia for many thousands of years. They led a ‘hunter-gatherer’ lifestyle prior to European contact. They are known to have lower sitting-height to stature ratio with long legs, relatively short trunks and narrow across the torso and hips (a ‘linear’ body build).

An elevated BMI has been postulated to be a cause.All male breast cancer patients operated from January 1990 to May 2001 were retrospectively reviewed. Relation between BMI and male breast cancer was examined.43 males underwent breast surgery for breast cancer during this period.

Journal of the Royal Society of Health, 1990ANTHROPOMETRIC MEASUREMENTS of 1012 rural school-going children, selected ran domly, were performed. There were 776 males and 236 females in the age group of 5-15 years. The values of weight and height were recorded for every child in the study sample.
