Graphene-based dental adhesive with anti-biofilm activity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nanobiotechnology, 2017
Secondary caries are considered the main cause of dental restoration failure. In this context, anti-biofilm and bactericidal properties are desired in dental materials against pathogens such as Streptococcus mutans. To this purpose, graphene based materials can be used as fillers of polymer dental adhesives.

Lichen Polyphenolic Compounds for the Eradication of Candida albicans Biofilms

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2021
Lichens, due to their symbiotic nature (association between fungi and algae), constitute a chemical factory of original compounds. Polyphenolic compounds (depsides and depsidones) are the main constituents of lichens and are exclusively biosynthesized by

Glycosyl hydrolase from Pseudomonas fluorescens inhibits the biofilm formation of Pseudomonads

open access: yesBiofilm, 2023
Biofilms are complex microbial communities embedded in extracellular matrix. Pathogens within the biofilm become more resistant to the antibiotics than planktonic counterparts. Novel strategies are required to encounter biofilms.
