Hepatitis D virus infection in persons with HIV and hepatitis B virus across Europe: A cross‐sectional analysis of the HDV‐Europe cohort

open access: yesHIV Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Infection with hepatitis D virus (HDV) is known to accelerate the progression of liver disease and is associated with mortality in individuals with HIV and hepatitis B virus (HBV). However, little is known about current HDV epidemiology, including HDV‐testing practices and prevalence, in this population in Europe.

Conifer host identity shapes wood‐boring beetle communities more than climate across a latitudinal forest gradient in Quebec (Canada)

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.
Host tree identity and latitude shaped wood‐boring beetle assemblages, with species richness declining northward but community composition varying among regions and hosts. Host tree species influenced beetle communities more strongly than climate; black spruce supported the most species, while eastern hemlock hosted very few.

Preventing infections after CD19‐directed chimeric antigen receptor T‐cell therapies for lymphoma: a consensus practice statement

open access: yesInternal Medicine Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‐cell therapies directed against cluster of differentiation 19 (CD19) are a standard of care for relapsed or refractory B‐cell lymphomas. Infection is the leading cause of non‐relapse mortality, and this risk may persist for years after CAR T‐cell receipt.

The cholesterol, high‐density lipoprotein, and glucose index and its derivatives related to obesity and inflammation as novel metabolic markers for predicting new‐onset cardiovascular‐liver‐metabolic multimorbidity: A prospective cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
The CHG index and its obesity‐derived variants were associated with incident CLMM, with CHG‐BMI showing the strongest association and predictive performance. CHG‐BMI may serve as a simple and accessible metabolic marker for CLMM risk stratification. ABSTRACT Background Cardiovascular‐liver‐metabolic multimorbidity (CLMM), defined as the co‐occurrence ...

Variable Infection Outcomes in Repeated Experimental Challenges of Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar) With an Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus Isolate

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Infectious salmon anaemia (ISA) affects Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and is caused by the ISA virus (ISAV). The disease is associated with ISAV strains with deletions in the hemagglutinin‐esterase protein, named HPRΔ variants. The present study was initially designed as a vaccine efficacy study against ISA.

Engineered Yarrowia lipolytica inducing gene silencing confers control ability against gray mold in plants

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Engineered the plant‐colonizing yeast Yarrowia lipolytica to produce and deliver double‐stranded RNAs targeting key genes of the gray mold fungus Botrytis cinerea produced a ‘living factory’ that continuously synthesizes and releases gene‐silencing molecules on plant surfaces, effectively suppressing the pathogen.

Interacting climatic, environmental, biologic and socio‐economic drivers of the global dengue expansion

open access: yesJournal of Internal Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Dengue is the most rapidly expanding mosquito‐borne viral disease worldwide. The worst year on record was 2024, with over 100 countries reporting 14.4 million cases and over 11,000 deaths. Since then, and up to August 2026, another 7.4 million cases and over 5000 deaths have been reported.

Leaders' Functional Specialization and Responses to Institutional Shifts during Crises: Evidence from the Pandemic

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Prior studies on crisis management often highlight the adaptiveness of generalist leaders, whose diverse functional experiences allow for flexible and innovative responses. However, we propose that in situations where crises lead to abrupt shifts in dominant institutional pressures, leaders with specialized functional backgrounds potentially ...

Systemic, Lifestyle and Environmental Modifying Factors in the Pathogenesis of Periodontitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
A variety of impacting factors in the pathogenesis of periodontitis exist, including systemic, lifestyle, and environmental factors. This review highlights the manifold mechanistic aspects of the link between the pathogenesis of periodontitis, addressing these numerous factors to supplement the long‐standing knowledge of the progression of the disease.
