Anti-HLA antibodies in heart transplantation

Transplant Immunology, 2004
We have analyzed the relationship between the development of transplant-related coronary artery disease (TRCAD) and the following potential risk factors: (a). number of HLA mismatches between recipient and donor; (b). production of anti-HLA antibodies; (c). growth of lymphocytes infiltrating the graft; and (d).

Herpes gestationis and anti-HLA immunization

British Journal of Dermatology, 1981
The lymphocytotoxicity technique at +15 degrees C and +37 degrees C was used to identify anti-HLA and cold lymphocytotoxic antibodies in sera from two women with herpes gestationis. The degree of severity of the illness was different in the two cases.

Anti-HLA Antibodies in Kidney Transplanted Patients

Transplantation Proceedings, 2005
Anti-human leukocyte antibodies (HLA) play a central role in graft survival, particularly in kidney transplantation. The presence of preformed donor specific anti-HLA antibodies is always excluded before transplantation by performing crossmatches using current and historic recipient serum samples.

Concordance and discordance in anti-HLA antibody testing

Transplant Immunology, 2015
Correct identification of the specificity of antibodies directed against HLA using single antigen Luminex beads (SALB) is essential in current HLA laboratory practice for transplantation. The aim of this study was to investigate the magnitude of concordance and discordance among laboratories in testing for anti-HLA antibodies using SALB.35 sera were ...

Interference between anti-HLA antibodies and chlorpromazine

Nature, 1976
IT has been suggested that the effects of chlorpromazine in man and animals are genetically influenced1,2. In mice, genetic control of sensitivity to this drug seems to reside in two loci, the more important of which lies on chromosome 9 at about the region which controls the histo-compatibility system H2 (ref. 3).

THE ROLE OF ANTI-HLA ANTIBODIES IN HEART TRANSPLANTATION

TRANSPLANTATION, 1991
The major threat to long-term survival of heart allograft recipients is the development of graft atherosclerosis, which seems to be a manifestation of chronic rejection. To assess the role of anti-HLA antibodies in heart allograft rejection we studied 107 patients and compared the survival of recipients who formed anti-HLA antibodies with the survival ...

Marked thrombocytopenia in a neonate is associated with anti‐HPA‐5b, anti‐HLA‐A31, and anti‐HLA‐B55 antibodies

Pediatric Blood & Cancer, 2018
AbstractMaternal antibodies against human platelet antigen (HPA) and/or human leukocyte antigen (HLA) cause fetal and neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (FNAIT) in 0.09‐0.15% of live births. Severe cases account for 5‐31% and the frequency of multiple kinds of alloantibodies is 6.9‐9% of FNAIT.

Analysis of the repertoire of anti-HLA antibodies with anti-idiotypes to a murine anti-HLA-A2,A28 monoclonal antibody

Human Immunology, 1984
Xenoantibodies to idiotypes of the anti-HLA-A2,A28 MoAb CR11 -351 were isolated from an antiserum raised in rabbit #81 by immunizations with purified MoAb CR11 -351. The purification procedure involved absorption with insolubilized mouse immunoglobulins and monoclonal antibodies and affinity chromatography on insolubilized MoAb CR11 -351.

Specificity of anti‐HLA‐B27 cytotoxic T lymphocytes

Tissue Antigens, 1983
Sub‐types of HLA‐B27 were detected by cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) generated between HLA‐A, ‐B‐ and ‐C‐identical B27‐positive individuals. We now report the specificity of six independent CTL's generated by mixed lymphocyte culture (MLC) of HLA‐A, ‐B and ‐C serologically identical B27‐positive responder and stimulator cells.
