Anti-inflammation and Antifibroblastic Actions of Interleukin-1 Blockers

Journal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1998
Interleukin-1 (IL-1) blockers, CK 127 and CK 129, were found to inhibit IL-1-induced posterior uveitis very effectively at 3-10 mg/kg i.p. and were more potent than prednisolone which required at least 20 mg/kg i.p. to achieve the same level of anti-uveitis action.

Schisandra chinensis ameliorates depressive‐like behaviors by regulating microbiota‐gut‐brain axis via its anti‐inflammation activity

Phytotherapy Research, 2020
The present study aimed to examine the antidepressant actions of the composition fractions of Schisandra chinensis using LPS‐induced mice. Animals were treated with total extracts (SCE), lignans (SCL), polysaccharides (SCPS), and essential oil (SCVO ...

ART for Anti-inflammation

2015
Chronic/acute synovitis, an early phase of RA, can be experimentally induced in mice by autoantigen/bacterial antigen challenging and live bacterial feeding. While a donor of NO replicates the modeling of synovitis, an inhibitor of NOS blocks the progression of synovitis, suggesting inflammation-triggered NO burst represents an etiological cause of ...

Bilirubin Nanoparticles as a Nanomedicine for Anti‐inflammation Therapy

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2016
AbstractDespite the high potency of bilirubin as an endogenous anti‐inflammatory compound, its clinical translation has been hampered because of its insolubility in water. Bilirubin‐based nanoparticles that may overcome this critical issue are presented.

Non-extractable polyphenols from cranberries: potential anti-inflammation and anti-colon-cancer agents.

Food & Function, 2019
Cranberries (Vaccinium macrocarpon) are full of polyphenols, which display various health benefits. Most studies have focused on extractable polyphenols (EPs) rather than non-extractable polyphenols (NEPs) but NEPs may possess important biological ...

Does Acupuncture Modulate Anti-Inflammation via Haemorphin in Obesity?

Acupuncture in Medicine, 2014
Obesity is a worldwide epidemic and has become a public health priority for which there is a need for effective treatments. It is recognised as a condition of low-grade systemic inflammation.1 Acupuncture may be a cost-effective approach to the treatment of obesity.2 ,3 However, the question of how acupuncture mechanistically exerts beneficial effects ...
