The Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.We synthesize the current knowledge regarding caribou habitat selection in relation to wildfires. Caribou responses to recent burns were generally weak and highly variable across subspecies or ecotypes, suggesting that post‐fire habitat selection is likely context‐dependent and the need for regionally adapted habitat management strategies.
