Differentiating the Clinical and Variant Spectrum of Hardikar Syndrome From Other MED12 ‐Related Developmental Disorders

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 200, Issue 7, Page 1619-1650, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The rare X‐linked female‐restricted Hardikar syndrome (HDKR, OMIM # 301068) is characterized by multiple congenital anomalies including orofacial clefts, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and cardiac anomalies, but cognitive and neurobehavioral development is rarely impaired.

Global Distribution and Comparative Resistance Profiles of Escherichia coli Isolated From Bovine Meat and Meat Products: Evidence From Network Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
Schematic overview of the study and its principal findings. E. coli isolated from bovine meat and meat products was evaluated for antimicrobial resistance using Bayesian network meta‐analysis. The graphical abstract highlights the antimicrobial resistance ranking based on SUCRA, showing high resistance to penicillin, doxycycline, amoxicillin ...

Seasonal Prevalence, Molecular Identification and Therapeutic Management of Enterotoxemia Caused by Clostridium perfringens Type D in Goats of Peshawar and Charsadda Districts, Pakistan

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Seasonal enterotoxaemia outbreaks in goats from the Peshawar and Charsadda districts were investigated through large‐scale faecal sampling, bacterial isolation, PCR‐based molecular confirmation of the etx gene, antimicrobial susceptibility testing and clinico‐therapeutic trials. The study demonstrates higher disease prevalence during spring and winter,

Genomic Insights Into Antimicrobial Resistance and Virulence of Enterococcus avium Strains From Bovine Mastitis in Some Selected Dairy Farms of Bangladesh

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
The graphical abstract outlines that samples from milk, faeces and soil were tested for Enterococcus avium using culture, PCR and genome sequencing.2. Overall, prevalence of E. avium was 56.3%, and 93.5% of isolates were multidrug‐resistant.3. Genomic analysis revealed six ARGs, 43–45 VFGs and 4–6 bacteriocins.4.

Generation of equine‐specific local antibiograms: reproductive tract of mares and fillies in Western Australia

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, Volume 104, Issue 7, Page 457-462, July 2026.
Introduction Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) may lead to increasing inefficacy and treatment failure of bacterial infections in the future. Antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) programmes are critical to ensuring the continued efficacy of available antimicrobials.

Antibiotics in Veterinary Ophthalmology: Resistance, Stewardship, and Emerging Antibiotic‐Sparing Strategies

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, Volume 29, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing challenge in veterinary ophthalmology, particularly in cases of bacterial keratitis, where progressive stromal infection can threaten vision and globe integrity within hours to days. This review synthesizes current evidence on pathogen distribution, antimicrobial susceptibility profiles, multidrug ...

Antimicrobial and Nutritional Properties of Edible Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) Extracts Against Foodborne Pathogens Relevant to Maternal and Child Malnutrition in Africa

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
Somali Pleurotus ostreatus was extracted with water and ethanol and evaluated for nutrition, antibacterial activity, GC–MS profile, and molecular docking. The mushroom was rich in protein, fiber, iron, and zinc, while the ethanolic extract showed stronger moderate in vitro inhibition of selected foodborne pathogens than the aqueous extract.

Staphylococcal skin infection isolates from dogs without recent antibiotic exposure are 100% susceptible to clindamycin

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
The objective of this study was to create an antibiogram representative of bacterial skin infections in canine patients that would typically be treated empirically, i.e., without risk factors for antibiotic resistance, such as a history of recent ...
