[Heterogeneity of antibodies produced by individual cells].

Annales d'immunologie, 1977
Recent experimental findings indicate that individual B cells can produce simultaneously heterogeneous Ig molecules. Three orders of heterogeneity have been described. (1) In two published cases of human myeloma, individual malignant cells produced Igkappa and Iglambda (case Im) or IgMlambda and IgGkappa (case Br).

Evaluating B-Cells: From Bone Marrow Precursors to Antibody-Producing Cells

2013
Lymphocyte characterization is primarily based on the differential expression of surface markers. In this context, flow-cytometry analysis (FACS) is an exceptional technique that not only allows the identification of B-cell subsets, but can also be used to evaluate cell function, activation, and division.

Generation of monoclonal antibody-producing mammalian cell lines

Pharmaceutical Bioprocessing, 2013
Clinical effectiveness has driven the commercial success of monoclonal antibody (mAb) products. Mammalian cells are currently the preferred system for large-scale production as the mAbs produced are biochemically similar to human forms. The cell line generation process is tedious and time-consuming as clones with high productivity, stable long-term ...

Low number of antibody producing cells in patients with sickle cell anemia

Immunology Letters, 1992
B cell function is impaired in patients with sickle cell anemia. Although the number of surface IgM positive cells was similar in sickle cell patients and controls, in vitro spontaneous IgM, and PWM stimulated IgA, IgM, and IgG synthesis was significantly lower in the patients than in controls.

[Antibody producing cells and immunoglobulin synthesizing cells lacking antibody function].

Annales d'immunologie, 1977
