Enhanced Magnetism in Cation‐Modulated Manganite Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Magnetic contrast is introduced within a single manganite system via a small modulation of the cation ratio. Enhanced magnetization occurs in superlattices with small stoichiometric differences. The combined SQUID, polarized neutron reflectometry, and x‐ray absorption spectroscopy results are consistent with the interfacial electronic reconstruction ...

The phenomenon of magnetic exchange bias in ferromagnetic nanocomposites grown by electron beam evaporation

open access: yesSemiconductor Physics, Quantum Electronics & Optoelectronics, 2018
For the first time, in ferromagnetic nanocomposites Co/СoO/Al2O3 formed by two-crucible electron beam evaporation with deposition on a policor substrate, the magnetic exchange bias was observed.

Controlling Antiferromagnetic Magnon Polarization by Interfacial Exchange Interaction

open access: yes, 2022
We demonstrate highly efficient control of antiferromagnetic (AFM) magnon spins by the interfacial exchange interaction in heterostructures of ferrimagnetic yttrium iron garnet (YIG) and AFM Cr2O3.

Helicity‐Dependent All‐Optical Switching in Bi,Ga‐Substituted Rare‐Earth Iron Garnet Films Driven by Orbital Magnetic Moment

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Helicity‐dependent all‐optical magnetization switching was demonstrated for the Bi‐ and Ga‐substituted rare‐earth (R) iron garnet crystal thin films (Bi,Ga:RIG; R = Eu3+, Nd3+, and Y3+). The efficiency followed the order EIG > NIG > YIG. These results show the correlation between 4f orbital moment (4f〈L〉) of R3+ and helicity‐dependent optical ...

Laser‐Induced Ultrafast Magnetic Phase Transition in 2D Van Der Waals Antiferromagnetic Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, ultrafast laser‐induced spin transfer and spin relaxation dynamics in 2D van der Waals antiferromagnetic CrI3/CrGeTe3 heterostructures are investigated. Laser excitation is demonstrated to induce pronounced interlayer nonequilibrium spin dynamics and ultrafast magnetic moment reconstruction, driving a transition from an antiferromagnetic (

Tunable Negative Thermal Expansion in Fe/Cr‐Substituted Nd2Co17 Compounds via Magnetoelastic Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study achieves anisotropic thermal expansion tuning in Nd2(Co1‐xFex)17‐yCry compounds via a magnetoelastic strategy. Variable‐temperature synchrotron X‐ray diffraction reveals that increased Fe content induces switchable lattice responses. Compositional control reduces the volume expansion coefficient αV by 20% (x═0.7) and modulates TC (442–625 K),

New High‐Tc Charge‐Transfer Multiferroicity in the Quasi‐2D Antiferromagnet CrSbS3

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Low‐dimensional magnets, particularly 2D systems, offer a rich platform for realizing unconventional multiferroic mechanisms, especially when multiple polarization channels coexist. In the quasi‐2D antiferromagnet CrSbS3, which crystallizes in the centrosymmetric orthorhombic space group Pnma and orders magnetically at TN ≈ 90 K, two ...

Interlayer interaction and Davydov splitting in antiferromagnetic few-layer NiPS3

open access: yesnpj Quantum Materials
Interlayer interactions in few-layer NiPS3 were investigated by analyzing low-frequency interlayer vibration modes and Davydov splitting of an intralayer, A1g vibration mode at ~255 cm–1 by Raman spectroscopy as a function of temperature.

Effective t-J model of pairing: singlet versus triplet

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2008
The t-J model is regarded as a canonical model of spin-singlet pairing induced by the kinetic exchange interaction also responsible for an antiferromagnetic ordering in the strongly correlated narrow-band systems. In the orbitally degenerate systems both

Macrospin dynamics in antiferromagnets triggered by sub-20 femtosecond injection of nanomagnons

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Magnetic order in nature is defined by the exchange interaction, however its understanding on the ultrafast- and nanometer-scales is limited. Here, the authors follow the femtosecond sub-nanometer dynamics of the antiferromagnetic order parameter in ...
