Gold Clusters With Open‐Shell Ligands: Superatom Mediated Magnetic Interaction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Open‐shell verdazyl radicals were covalently integrated with atomically precise Ir‐doped Au12 (Ir@Au12) superatoms. The resulting radical–superatom hybrids exhibit photoinduced electron transfer, spin delocalization onto the metal‐cluster core, and weak ferromagnetic communication between radicals mediated by the superatomic electronic structure ...

Enhanced Spin‐Reorientation Transition and Polarization in DyFeO3 Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Epitaxial strain in antiferromagnetic orthoferrite thin films enhances known bulk properties into a parameter range that makes them more accessible for potential applications. We show that bulk polar properties move from 4 K towards room temperature and the magnetic field‐induced AFM to FM spin‐flip in the paramagnetic Dy lattice when applying small ...

Engineering Ferrimagnetic Interactions in Molecular Quantum Systems

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Heterospin nanographene architectures—constructed by covalently linking spin‐1/2$\nicefrac {1}{2}$ and spin‐1 triangular units via on‐surface synthesis—are characterized by bond‐resolved scanning probe microscopy. Inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy probes exchange interactions within a Heisenberg model, revealing both compensated (S=0$S=0$) and ...

Amorphous Tungsten Driving Extraordinary Long‐Range Interlayer Exchange Coupling and Large Spin‐Orbit Torque

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The amorphous tungsten (W) is found to be a promising non‐magnetic interlayer simultaneously driving the long‐range interlayer exchange coupling and the large spin Hall effect in a synthetic antiferromagnet (SyAF). Thanks to these characteristics, efficient spin‐orbit torque switching is achieved in the SyAF.

Energy Transfer‐Mediated Magnetoluminescence of an Octahedral MnII Complex Ligated With Bis(Diphenylphosphino)Methane Dioxide

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Energy‐transfer‐mediated magnetoluminescence of paramagnetic transition metal complexes: dope solids of an octahedral MnII complex into the corresponding ZnII complex exhibited a pronounced magnetic field response of emission spectra under the application of magnetic fields.

Mn‐Substituted Topological Phase Transition in Topological Insulator Pt2HgSe3

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Topological materials have gained a significant interest in recent years due to their unique features, leading to topological insulators (TI), Dirac or Weyl semimetals, etc. The layered material Pt2HgSe3${\rm Pt}_2{\rm HgSe}_3$ is found to be a dual TI characterized by significant spin–orbit coupling and band inversion.

S = 3/2 Iron(I)‐Bisphosphine‐Ate Complexes: Synthesis, Characterization, and Reactivity for Electrophile Activation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
In this work, we present a new class of unusual charged Fe(I)‐bisphosphine‐ates, along with full characterization of their structure and bonding, utilizing low‐temperature synthetic and spectroscopic and techniques. These complexes are highly reactive toward catalytically relevant electrophiles, and can serve as valuable synthons providing access to ...

Exploiting Ferroelectric and Spintronic Dynamics for Neural Network Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric and spintronic devices, relying on the control of polarization and magnetization, offer intrinsically fast, durable, energy‐efficient, and low‐latency building blocks for analog in‐memory computing. The hysteretic dynamics of an order parameter are leveraged to provide nonvolatile, multistate memory and nonlinear switching. Brain‐inspired

Metal–Metal Cooperative C─F and S─F Bond Cleavage by Low‐Valent Tetracobalt Clusters and Water‐Assisted Fluoroarene Hydrodefluorination

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled tetrahedral CoI4 clusters supported by simple bipyridine‐based ligands undergo core rearrangement to cleave S─F and C(sp2)─F bond, forming fluoride‐bridged tetracobalt(II)‐oxo clusters, while exposure of cobalt(I) clusters to molecular oxygen yields cubane‐type cobalt(III) oxo clusters.
