Corrosion and antifouling properties of copper-containing PEO coatings produced on steels [PDF]
peer reviewedIn this work, antifouling copper-containing PEO coatings were produced on zinc-aluminized steels and their antifouling properties in circulating seawater were tested at the Hydrobiological Station Umberto D'Ancona located in Chioggia (Venice,

ABSTRACT Prostate cancer (PCa) is an endocrine‐related cancer highly dependent on androgenic signaling. Beyond hormone dependence, extrinsic factors play a significant role in the risk of developing PCa, which raises concern about the influence of environmental compounds such as endocrine‐disrupting chemicals (EDCs). Tributyltin (TBT) is an EDC used in

Biomimetic strategies in antifouling coatings [PDF]
Marine biofouling is the colonization of aquatic organisms on manmade structures such as ship hulls and platforms, and has been of major concern since the inception of naval fleets. The aim in modern ship coatings is primarily directed towards minimizing the hull roughness caused by biofouling, as a higher roughness leads to increased drag and ...

Effects of Tributyltin Chloride on Human Neuronal Differentiation and Mice Brain Development
ABSTRACT According to the developmental origins of health and disease hypothesis, perinatal exposure to an environmental toxicant during the development of the nervous system could cause a permanent cellular modification that may promote the appearance of neurodegenerative diseases at an older age.

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.
