FeIII‐Mediated Synthesis of Azaspirodienones via Ipso‐Radical Cyclization of Ugi–4CR Adducts

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
An efficient two‐step protocol for the synthesis of azaspirodienones via Fe‐mediated ipso‐radical cyclization of Ugi adducts has been developed. This methodology provides rapid access to these privileged spirocyclic architectures under mild conditions, offering a practical and versatile approach to generating structurally complex molecules with ...

Modular Synthesis of Di‐ and Triazadibenzoazulenes by a Cross‐Coupling/Cycloisomerization Strategy

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Two series of regioisomeric di‐ and triazadibenzoazulenes were prepared from dihalogenated imidazo[1,2‐a]pyridines and imidazo[1,2‐a]pyrazines. Imidazo[1,2‐a]pyridines and imidazo[1,2‐a]pyrazines are important nitrogen‐containing heterocycles with applications in medicinal and materials chemistry.

Gold‐Catalyzed Cyclization of Indole‐Tethered Alkynes Enabling Synthesis of Exocyclic Alkenyl Tetrahydrocarbazoles

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
An efficient gold‐catalyzed intramolecular cyclization of indole‐tethered alkynes using AgNTf2 as an additive has been developed, which provides bioactive exocyclic alkenyl tetrahydrocarbazoles with up to 85% yield. Control experiments and DFT studies indicate that the reaction proceeds via a 6‐exo‐dig cyclization pathway, with gold acetylide complexes

Cytotoxicity of 19 Pesticides in Rainbow Trout Gill, Liver, and Intestinal Cell Lines

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology and Chemistry, EarlyView.
Abstract The rainbow trout gill cell line (RTgill‐W1), via test guideline 249 of the Organisation for Economic Co‐operation and Development, has been established as a promising New Approach Methodology, although to advance confidence in the method more case studies are needed that: 1) expand our understanding of applicability domains (chemicals with ...

Vaginal host–microbe signatures linked to placental outcomes in mares

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Ascending placentitis is a leading cause of late‐term pregnancy loss in mares. Although pathogens are presumed to ascend from the caudal reproductive tract, the association between the vaginal microbiome and placentitis has not been systematically examined.
