Tumor‐associated antigens: Tn antigen,
AbstractGlycosylation is one of the major posttranslational modifications of proteins. N‐glycosylation (Asn‐linked) and O‐glycosylation (Ser/Thr‐linked) are the two main forms. Abnormal O‐glycosylation is frequently observed on the surface of tumor cells, and is associated with an adverse outcome and poor prognosis in patients with cancer.

The antigenicity of carcinoembryonic antigen in man
International Journal of Cancer, 1975AbstractBinding of globulins to 125I CEA was detected in 10 of 24 sera from patients with cancer, 13 of 26 sera from blood donors, and 7 of 27 supernates of tumor‐cell suspensions. Binding was predominantly by IgM in 10 of 14 sera tested by radioimmunoelectrophoresis.

Antigen presentation, antigen-presenting cells and antigen processing
Current Opinion in Immunology, 1988To summarize, during the period under review there have been considerable advances in our understanding of how antigen is associated with MHC on the surface of a presenting cell. Basic rules which govern this association have been confirmed as including both the nature and the configuration of the antigen.

The Haakestad Antigen Is Identical with the Hov Antigen
Vox Sanguinis, 1987Abstract. The rare blood group antigen previously referred to as the ‘Haakestad antigen’ is shown to be identical with the Hov antigen (numerical designation: 700.038). Family studies add ABO and HLA to the systems already known to segregate independently from Hov. Among 2,021 Danish blood donors, 4 Hov+ persons were found.

Antigenicity of the tetracyclines
Journal of Allergy, 1965Abstract Specific antisera to oxytetracycline were produced in rabbits. The antibody was shown to be in the globulin fraction by DEAE-Sephadex separation. Its activity was demonstrated by tanned-cell hemagglutination, hemagglutination-inhibition, and the Schultz-Dale smooth muscle contraction phenomenon.

TWO ANTIGENIC SPECIFICITIES IN THE AUSTRALIA ANTIGEN
Australian Journal of Experimental Biology and Medical Science, 1971SummaryTwo antigenic specificities have been detected in Australia antigens identified in Melbourne. One specificity was common to all antigens studied, the other was observed in approximately 50% of patients with Au‐positive acute viral hepatitis and also in all of a group of antigen‐positive institutionalized Mongols. In patients with acute viral ...

Antigens, Antigenicity, and Immunogenicity
2015The initiation of an immune response requires the interaction between T cells, B cells, and antigen-presenting cells (APCs), which form central components of almost all immune responses, and antigens, substances recognized as foreign by the immune system. The ability of an antigen to combine with antibody reflects the property of antigenicity.

International Journal of Dermatology, 1977
Autoantibodies in man may develop to antigens present in all of the major anatomical areas of the epidermis, namely the nuclei and cytoplasm of keratinocytes, the dermal-epidermal junction, the intercellular substance, and the stratum corneum. The antigens in all of these areas are polymorphic.

Antigen-antigen receptor interactions
Current Opinion in Structural Biology, 1991Abstract The genetic basis of antigen receptor diversity is understood for both B and T cell systems. Structural aspects of five specific antibody-antigen interactions have also been described. During the past year, new data comparing the structures of liganded and unliganded antibodies have given support to the hypothesis that there exists a ...
