Dust samples collected in 61 homes of patients with mite allergies and 11 homes of non-allergic people as controls were examined for antigen levels of Dermatophagoides farinae Hughes and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (Trouessart) to reveal the current distribution of allergenic mites in homes in Japan.

Antigenic and allergenic constituents of Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus extract.
Developments in biological standardization, 1975The antigenic analysis of Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus extract was performed by using antiserum obtained in rabbits by immunization with mite extract in Freund's adjuvant. Immunodiffusion and immunoelectrophoretic analysis revealed the presence of many constituents, most of which were common to human dander, house dust and Dermatophagoides farinae ...

B cell mitogenic activity of house dust mite, Dermatophagoides farinae, antigens
Immunology Letters, 1996The effect of mite antigens on murine and human lymphocytes was studied in vitro. Antigens prepared from Dermatophagoides farinae feces and bodies stimulated normal murine spleen cells to proliferate in a dose-dependent manner. The responder cells are B cells, because the response was reduced by the treatment of spleen cells with anti-immunoglobulin ...

Dermatophagoides farinae antigen skin test sensitivity in Wisconsin.
Annals of allergy, 1979Fifty consecutive patients with allergic asthma and/or rhinitis in Madison. Wisconsin, were tested intradermally with a house dust extract (1:100) and with a Dermatophagoides farinae antigen (1:2000). The close relationship between the two skin test results (mite and house dust) suggests that both contain the same cross-reacting antigens and that mites

Allergy to house dust mite (HDM) such as Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, nickel and infection by Staphylococcus aureus are frequent in atopic dermatitis. Understanding molecular mechanisms responsible for pathological reactivity of immune cells on these substances may enable to individualize and consequently improve treatment of atopic patients ...

[Gel filtration analysis of the protein antigens of Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus ticks].
Biulleten' eksperimental'noi biologii i meditsiny, 1980Gel filtration analysis was used to study the antigenous composition and molecular weight of the culture extract from the ticks D. pteronyssinus. The highest allergenic and immunochemical activity was shown by elution fractions I and II taken together. Their activity exceeded that of the whole extract by 69%.
