Aging China's cardiac challenge: Projected growth of atrial arrhythmia cases and healthcare preparedness through 2045 — A global burden disease analysis

open access: yesGeriatrics &Gerontology International, EarlyView.
Atrial fibrillation/flutter cases in China have tripled since 1990. Using GBD 2021 data and BAPC modeling, this study projects rising incidence and prevalence through 2045, driven by aging and metabolic risk. Targeted, China‐specific prevention and digital health strategies are urgently needed to mitigate future burden.

Genetic alterations in hepatocellular carcinoma after sustained virological response in relation to the molecular characterization of metabolic diseases

open access: yesHepatology Research, EarlyView.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the hepatitis C virus (HCV)‐sustained virologic response (SVR) group was associated with alcohol consumption and metabolic diseases and showed significantly lower rates of ARID2 alterations and AXIN1 alterations compared to the HCV‐non‐SVR group, with a mutational profile resembling that of the steatotic liver disease ...
