Light‐Activated Ruthenium Nanoclusters Reprogram the Metabolic‐Quorum Sensing Axis for Precision Periodontitis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Under 660 nm visible light, Ru NCs efficiently photocatalyze nitrate‐to‐ammonium conversion and modulate oral nitrogen metabolism. They precisely perturb Veillonella parvula, block its key support to Porphyromonas gingivalis, and exert an “inhibiting without killing” antivirulence effect.

Combined bisdemethoxycurcumin and potassium iodide-mediated antimicrobial photodynamic therapy

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Antimicrobial photodynamic therapy is emerging as a promising way to treat infections with minimal side effects. Typically, a single photosensitizer used in photodynamic therapy is capable of generating only one type of reactive oxygen species, which may

Self‐Sustaining Lactate Depletion Nanoplatform Remodels Tumor Microenvironment and Augments Synergistic Photodynamic/Photothermal/Chemodynamic/Starvation Therapy for Eradication of Colon Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The HILA nanoplatform integrates HMnO2, LOX, and ICG to orchestrate multimodal therapy (starvation, chemodynamic, photodynamic, and photothermal) for achieving efficient colon cancer eradication. The established HMnO2‐LOX catalytic cycle continuously consumes lactate, acidifys microenvironment, relieves hypoxia, and generats reactive oxygen species ...

Biomimetic Nanoplatform for Dual Target Nano‐Metabolic Therapy in Diabetes‐Associated Biofilm Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic GOx/Arg‐loaded nanoplatform produces nitric oxide through an in situ catalytic cascade reaction, enabling dual‐target metabolic regulation in diabetes‐associated biofilm infections. Bacterial metabolism is disrupted, and macrophage immunometabolism is reprogrammed, resulting in biofilm eradication, immune restoration, and enhanced ...

Dual‐Functional Silent‐Region SERS Nanoplatform for Real‐Time Bacterial Tracking and Wound Healing Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bacterial wound infections, particularly those caused by Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, are difficult to treat due to biofilm formation, multidrug resistance, and chronic inflammation. Here, we report a multifunctional nanoplatform based on a surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) probe that enables simultaneous photodynamic ...

Assessment of Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) in Disinfection of Deeper Dentinal Tubules in a Root Canal System: An In Vitro Study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2014
Context: The success of endodontic treatment therapy depends on how well we eliminate pathogenic microflora from the root canal system as micro organism as the major cause of root canal infection.

Coagulation-balance gene predictors influencing visual prognosis in patients treated with photodynamic therapy for classic choroidal neovascularization secondary to age-related macular degeneration. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
PURPOSE: To determine whether different coagulation-balance genetic polymorphisms explain the variable clinical outcomes of photodynamic therapy with verteporfin (PDT-V) in Caucasian patients with classic or predominantly classic choroidal ...
