Toward a Universal Czochralski Growth Model Leveraging Data‐Driven Techniques

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, Volume 8, Issue 12, December 2025.
This data‐driven study investigates Czochralski growth using Decision Trees, Symbolic Regression, ANN, and SHAP to assess the impact of 21 process and design parameters on crystal quality. Trained on 632 CFD simulation datasets across four crystalline materials, it demonstrates the feasibility of a universal Cz model applicable to various ...

How and when do Pt- and Pd-semimetal minerals crystallize from saturated sulfide liquids?

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Platinum and Pd-arsenides, antimonides, tellurides, bismuthinides, and sulfides are the major hosts of Pt and Pd in magmatic and hydrothermal Cu-Ni-sulfide ores.

A Comprehensive Study of Quantum Dots: Ranging From Synthesis to Applications in Electrochemical Biosensors in the Detection of Biomolecules, Gastrointestinal Diseases, and Electrophysiology

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2025.
Quantum dots (QDs) typically refer to extremely small semiconductor particles, often no larger than 10 nm. The development of efficient biosensors for the sensitive and selective detection of biomolecules is essential for fundamental research in analytical chemistry, biomedicine, clinical diagnosis, and electrophysiology.

Application of spark plasma sintering to the fabrication of binary and ternary skutterudites

open access: yesScience and Technology of Advanced Materials, 2007
Spark plasma sintering (SPS) synthesis of CoSb3 and LaFe4Sb12 from ball-milled elemental metal powders has been performed obtaining samples with high relative densities (~99%). Fracture behaviour, the microstructure and mechanical properties were studied.

Monolayer BX (X = P, As, Sb): Emerging High‐Performance Channel Materials for Advanced Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 11, Issue 18, November 4, 2025.
Using a first‐principles quantum transport approach, the intrinsic transport properties of 2D BX (X = P, As, Sb) materials are investigated. These materials exhibit high on‐currents and excellent ambipolar symmetry in MOSFET configurations, and break the Boltzmann limit of subthreshold swing in TFETs while maintaining high and symmetric bipolar ...

Growth and characterization of indium antimonide and gallium antimonide crystals

open access: yesBulletin of Materials Science, 2001
Indium antimonide and gallium antimonide were synthesized from the respective component elements using an indigenously fabricated synthesis unit. Bulk crystals of indium antimonide and gallium antimonide were grown using both the vertical and horizontal Bridgman techniques. Effect of ampoule shapes and diameters on the crystallinity and homogeneity was

Compositionally Tunable 2D PtSexTey Alloys Synthesized via Thermally Assisted Conversion for Mid‐Wave Infrared Photodetection

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 11, Issue 18, November 4, 2025.
This work successfully demonstrates compositional engineering in a 2D PtSexTey system synthesized via direct thermally assisted conversion. Optical characterization confirms a strong correlation between composition and band gap. A photodetector based on a heterojunction of p‐type PtSexTey and n‐type Si exhibits a clear photoresponse to blackbody ...

Room‐Temperature Mid‐Infrared Detection Using Metasurface‐Absorber‐Integrated Phononic Crystal Oscillator

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 19, Issue 20, October 20, 2025.
Room‐temperature mid‐infrared (MIR) detectors are demonstrated using lithium niobate surface acoustic wave phononic crystal oscillators integrated with metasurface absorbers. The devices exhibit rapid thermal response and simplified fabrication compared to suspended resonators.
