Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Influence of hyperhomocysteinemia on the cellular redox state - Impact on homocysteine-induced endothelial dysfunction [PDF]
Hyperhomocysteinemia is an independent risk factor for the development of atherosclerosis. An increasing body of evidence has implicated oxidative stress as being contributory to homocysteines deleterious effects on the vasculature.

Antioxidants and Cellular Antioxidation Mechanism in Plants
Plants exposed to various types of environmental stresses produce reactive oxygen species (ROS), within the system. ROS can bring about various types of cell injuries leading to cell death. Plants have different ant oxidation mechanisms (mediated by both enzymatic and non enzymatic antioxidants) operational in them to take care of the deleterious ROS.

Pulmonary Antioxidant Defense Mechanisms
Intrinsic enzymatic and non-enzymatic pulmonary antioxidant defense mechanisms undoubtedly protect the lung against oxidant-mediated environmental stresses and diseases. In addition, new ways of augmenting pulmonary antioxidant defenses are being developed which can be used to bolster disease-overwhelmed intrinsic lung defense mechanisms.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Catechins: Protective mechanism of antioxidant stress in atherosclerosis
Tea has long been valued for its health benefits, especially its potential to prevent and treat atherosclerosis (AS). Abnormal lipid metabolism and oxidative stress are major factors that contribute to the development of AS.

Efecto del estrés producido por la mezcla de sales en la concentración de aldehído malónico, proteínas y enzimas antioxidantes de Leymus chinensis de tres colores foliares diferentes [PDF]
The mixed salt stress is common in nature. Salt stressalways affects plant growth. Different plant species have different adaptive capacity to salty soil. Leymus chinensis is an herbaceous plant with different leaf colors.

Novel Findings about Double-Loaded Curcumin-in-HPβcyclodextrin-in Liposomes: Effects on the Lipid Bilayer and Drug Release [PDF]
In this study, the encapsulation of curcumin (Cur) in “drug-in-cyclodextrin-in-liposomes (DCL)” by following the double-loading technique (DL) was proposed, giving rise to DCL–DL.
