Human papillomavirus persistence and clearance in women living with HIV: A five‐year retrospective analysis from an Italian university center

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 10, Page 2041-2047, October 2026.
In women living with HIV, HPV clearance occurred after a mean of approximately 2 years under antiretroviral therapy. Baseline positivity for the high‐risk HPV pool was associated with delayed clearance, suggesting that HPV genotype may influence viral persistence more than immunovirological status in clinically stable patients.

Retention in care among women with HIV: A systematic review of treatment continuity during pregnancy and postpartum

open access: yesHIV Medicine, Volume 27, Issue 10, Page 1584-1596, October 2026.
Abstract Introduction Pregnant women with HIV are at risk of reduced engagement in HIV care during pregnancy and postpartum. Retention in care, defined as continuous engagement in HIV‐related treatment and follow‐up, is essential to achieve virological suppression and prevent vertical transmission.

Death after discharge among children living with HIV admitted with suspected sepsis in Uganda: A secondary analysis of two prospective observational studies

open access: yesHIV Medicine, Volume 27, Issue 10, Page 1597-1608, October 2026.
Abstract Background Children living with HIV in low‐income countries contribute disproportionately to death after hospital discharge. This study investigates the effect of HIV on post‐discharge mortality and readmission by exploring a wide range of clinical, maternal and socioeconomic variables.
