Diagnosis of Cerebral Toxoplasmosis Using Fluorescein-Labeled Antitoxoplasma Monoclonal Antibodies
The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 1986The direct immunofluorescence technique using monoclonal antitoxoplasma antibodies was used to detect Toxoplasma organisms in 13 brain touch preparations and six smears of cerebrospinal fluid. For comparison, Giemsa-stained smears and histologic sections of the same cases were also studied.

[Interpretation of antitoxoplasma antibody findings].
Ceskoslovenska epidemiologie, mikrobiologie, imunologie, 1991Between reactions assessing one class of immunoglobulins and reactions detecting all serum immunoglobulins comprehensively such as CFT, there is, as might be expected, a very poor quantitative correlation and thus in individual sera the result of one reaction cannot be reliably added to the result of another (CFT:ELISA/IgG).

[Determination of antitoxoplasma IgG antibodies using the ELISA method].
Ceskoslovenska epidemiologie, mikrobiologie, imunologie, 1990The described ELISA reaction is suggested as a method for examination of antitoxoplasmatic IgG antibodies. It is a simple, i.e. three-layer sandwich with the following layers: 1. antigen 2. the examined serum either in serial dilution or single dilution 1:300 and 3. a peroxidase anti-IgG conjugate with a final conclusive step, i.e. a substrate solution

Antitoxoplasma antibodies in mothers in labour and their newborn children.
Bollettino dell'Istituto sieroterapico milanese, 1982A serological investigation on antitoxoplasma antibodies of women in labour and their newborn babies was carried out on a population sample representative of a defined geographical area. The relevant findings revealed: a) high titer antibodies in 21.2% of parturient-newborn pairs; b) slight or non-apparent toxoplasma infection, limited to 2.4% of ...

The serum samples of 50 patients with lymphoid neoplasia, and of 112 control subjects from the normal population were analysed for the presence of antitoxoplasma IgG antibodies by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique. There was no significant difference between the prevalence rate of antitoxoplasma IgG antibodies in the control subjects (69%)

Toxoplasmosis is a cosmopolitan disease. Our aim was to evaluate the epidemiological importance of toxoplasmosis in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and blood donors in Bamako (Mali, West Africa). A one year study of toxoplasmosis prevalence was carried out among patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome and blood donors ...

We have compared ELISA and IFA for the quantitation of IgG and IgM antitoxoplasma antibodies on whole sera and purified IgM fractions. In all the sera examined from adult patients the good correspondence of the two tests is expressed by a correlation coefficient of 0.77 (p = 0.001). However, we have observed that both IgM-ELISA and IgM-IFA performed on

Toxoplasmosis is an anthropo-zoonosis widely spread around the earth, whose ocular complications are very frequent and are often a first sign of infestation. This is a retrospective statistic research based on the clinical survey and periodic control of a lot of 135 patients with toxoplasmosis, out of which 90 presented ocular toxoplasmosis.
