Bianchi I Spacetimes in f(Q)‐Gravity

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The Kasner spacetimes are exact solutions that are self‐similar and of significant interest because they can describe the dynamic evolution of kinematic variables near the singularity of the Mixmaster universe. The chaotic behavior of the Mixmaster universe is related to the Kasner relations.

Active learning strategies in business and information & communication technology engineering higher education: A scoping review

open access: yesReview of Education, Volume 14, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract Active learning (AL) has emerged as a pedagogical response to diverse educational challenges across multiple disciplines. This scoping review maps the terrain of AL implementation patterns, examining AL practices in Business Education, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Engineering, Mathematics, and Statistics from 2015 until the ...

In Vitro Antioxidant Activity and In Vivo Neuroprotective Effect of Parastrephia quadrangularis in a Drosophila Parkinson’s Disease Model

open access: yesAntioxidants
Oxidative stress (OxS) is a central factor in neurodegenerative diseases (NDs), including Parkinson’s disease (PD). Phenolic compounds, including flavonoids and coumarins, counteract reactive species and modulate key intracellular survival pathways ...

Fault plane structure of the Antofagasta, Chile Earthquake of 1995 [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2000
From a large dataset of aftershocks in the rupture area of the Mw=8.0 1995 Antofagasta earthquake we derived the spatial distribution of hypocenters and a b‐value map along the fault plane. We further examined various focal mechanisms of the aftershock sequence.

Multi‐Element Soil‐Geochemistry Dataset, La Negra Formation, Chile

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 13, Issue 3, July 2026.
We release a single‐protocol, fine‐earth (< 2 mm) soil‐geochemistry dataset of 101 soils, 15 field duplicates and 7 outcrop rock pulps, collected on two parallel north–south transects spanning six sectors of the La Negra Formation (Atacama Desert, Chile); 62 aqua‐regia‐extractable analytes by ICP‐MS, with six trace metals cross‐checked by AAS ...

[Intestinal amebiasis in Antofagasta, Chile].

open access: yesBoletin chileno de parasitologia, 1993
In January 1989--December 1991 period we verified 35 cases of symptomatic intestinal amebiasis in Antofagasta, the main city of the North of Chile. Out of the total number of studied patients 23 were adults (77.1% males and 22.9% females) and all of them were permanent residents of Antofagasta.

Introducing the Freemove Dataset: A Regional Analysis of Free Movement Regimes in Latin America and the Caribbean

open access: yesInternational Migration, Volume 64, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Free Movement Regimes (FMRs) establish a mobility pathway that allows nationals of one country to enter, reside, and work within the territory of another state, extending well beyond the channels typically associated with conventionally defined migration.

Fog, Symbiosis, and Survival: The Ecological Architecture of the Grit Crust From the Atacama Desert Represents a Lichen Holobiome Rather Than a Soil Microbiome

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 6, June 2026.
Multi‐marker metabarcoding (16S rRNA, 18S rRNA, ITS2) of the fog‐dependent grit crust in the Atacama Desert reveals a community structured by lichen symbioses rather than typical soil‐derived microbial assemblages. The green algal photobiont Trebouxia dominates the eukaryotic community, accompanied by lichenized Caliciales and lichen‐associated ...

Beyond WEIRD societies: Global social identifications across 45 countries and their socio‐cultural and economic predictors

open access: yesPolitical Psychology, Volume 47, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract In an increasingly globalized world challenged by multiple social problems, global social identifications (GSIs, e.g., with all humanity) are concepts of growing interest. Although such identifications can be affected by the cultural contexts in which they are manifested, research on them remains largely confined to Western, Educated ...

Genetic Diversity, Population Structure and Evidence of Genetic Bottleneck in Geoffroea decorticans (Fabaceae): Implications for Conservation

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
We documented genetic variation, population structure, and bottleneck signals in Geoffroea decorticans (Fabaceae) populations across the Atacama Desert and emphasize the urgency of genetic monitoring. Conservation plans should prioritize populations based on genetic information including those with low diversity, strong bottleneck signals and high ...
