Prognostic Factors for Postoperative Complications. An Aggregate Protocol for 10 Observational Studies From the Danish TRIPLE‐A Cohort of 1.2 Million Surgeries

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 7, August 2026.

Lysine l‐Lactylation: Bridging Metabolism, Chromatin and Disease

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 59, Issue 8, August 2026.
Enzymatic regulation of KL‐la. The enzymatic regulation of KL‐la involves two distinct pathways for L‐lactate accumulation: intracellular production through glycolysis‐derived pyruvate conversion by lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) or direct cellular uptake via monocarboxylate transporters (MCTs). These L‐lactate pools fuel two distinct lactylation pathways—

Prediabetes, Malignant Ventricular Hypertrophy and Stroke: The SPRINT Trial

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 8, Page 6725-6734, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Prediabetes and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) are common risk factors in adults with hypertension. Whether their coexistence, particularly in the presence of subclinical myocardial injury or stress (malignant LVH), confers a heightened stroke risk is unknown.

Left Atrial Coupling Indexes as New Mortality Predictors in Chronic Chagas Disease

open access: yesEchocardiography, Volume 43, Issue 8, August 2026.
Echocardiographic left atrial coupling indexes are promising prognostic markers of dismal outcome in Chagas disease. They were associated with all‐cause mortality independent from age, sex, and echocardiographic indexes, including LV ejection fraction, supporting their potential clinical relevance.
