A Case of Isolated Aortic Regurgitation, Later Diagnosed as Takayasu Arteritis: An Importance of Physical Examinations

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Takayasu arteritis is a large vessel vasculitis involving the aorta and its branches. It has a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations and lacks specific diagnostic markers. Here we present a case of a 30‐year‐old female with isolated aortic regurgitation who presented with constitutional symptoms.

Targeting the PI3K/Akt/NF‐κB axis: Cluster of differentiation 5‐like‐mediated immunometabolic regulation of macrophage polarization in abdominal aortic aneurysm

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 19, Issue 4, December 2025.
Targeting the PI3K/Akt/NF‐κB Axis: CD5L suppresses M1 macrophage polarization and vascular inflammation, thereby attenuating abdominal aortic aneurysm progression. Abstract Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a life‐threatening vascular disorder lacking effective pharmacological interventions.

Computational Framework for Modeling Effects of Brain Collateral Circulation

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, Volume 41, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study presents a computational framework to simulate cerebral blood flow in large vessel occlusions combining image‐based vascular reconstructions with generative modeling of pial collaterals to create realistic brain vasculature down to 50 μm vessels.

FIGO good practice recommendations: Assisted vaginal birth and the second stage of labor

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 171, Issue 3, Page 970-982, December 2025.
Abstract Cesarean birth (CB) rates are increasing globally, with a current prevalence of 21.1% and a projected prevalence of 28.5% by 2030. Conversely, assisted vaginal birth (AVB) rates are declining, with reported rates of less than 10% in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs) and 10%–15% in high‐income countries (HICs). In some African countries,
