Aortic arch debranching in hybrid thoracic aortic replacement
Khirurgiya. Zhurnal im. N.I. Pirogova, 2022To analyze the outcomes of aortic arch debranching in hybrid thoracic aortic replacement. There were 107 patients who underwent hybrid thoracic aortic repair with debranching of supra-aortic vessels between 2015 and 2021. Patients underwent total and partial debranching (subtotal debranching and subclavian-carotid anastomosis/bypass).

Modified Distal Aortic Arch Occlusion During Aortic Arch Replacement
Heart, Lung and Circulation, 2020Circulatory arrest has been identified as an independent risk factor related to postoperative mortality in patients with Stanford type A aortic dissection. This study described a modified technique for distal aortic arch occlusion that markedly shortened the circulatory arrest time.

Total Arch Replacement for a Distal Aortic Arch Aneurysm With Right Aortic Arch
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2007Right-sided aortic arch accompanied by an aberrant origin of the left subclavian artery is rare and seen in 0.05% approximately 0.1% of the population. A 73-year-old woman with this anomaly was admitted to our institution because of the enlargement of the distal aortic arch aneurysm. She also had mild dysphagia.

Tactics and Techniques of Aortic Arch Replacement
Journal of Cardiac Surgery, 1994Operations on the nondissected and dissected aortic arch still pose challenges in terms of the need for and extent of aortic replacement. Our approaches to these lesions are described against the background of 204 operations (58 aneurysms, 54 chronic dissections, and 92 acute dissections), in terms of cerebral protection, procedural choices, and ...

Impact of reimplantation technique of supra-aortic branches in total arch replacement on stroke rate and survival: results from the ARCH registry. [PDF]
OBJECTIVES Our objective was to evaluate the impact of reimplantation techniques of the supra-aortic branches in total arch replacement on the rates of permanent neurological deficit (PND) and survival. METHODS We identified patients enrolled in

Aortic Arch Replacement by Posterolateral Exposure
The Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon, 1988Aortic arch replacement was carried out in a 54 year old male patient with an unexpected type A-dissection, using partial femoro-femoral bypass and hypothermic arrest, through a left side posterolateral thoracotomy. After the replacement of the aortic arch from the ascending to the descending aorta a warm-up perfusion was done through an 8 mm side arm ...

Aortic Arch Replacement With a Trifurcated Graft
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2007The purpose of this study was to review the results of aortic arch replacement using a trifurcated arch graft in conjunction with hypothermic circulatory arrest (HCA) and selective antegrade cerebral perfusion (SCP).One hundred fifty consecutive patients (91 male; mean age, 63 +/- 14 years; range, 20 to 87) had aortic arch replacement using a ...

Total aortic arch replacement by a cryopreserved aortic homograft
European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, 1995The case is presented of a 60-year-old man with previous surgery on the transverse aorta and a pseudoaneurysm of the aortic arch and hemoptysis. The patient was operated upon with cardiopulmonary bypass and cerebral perfusion. The aortic arch was resected preserving a cuff of the aorta containing the three supra-aortic trunks.

Seminars in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia, 2016
We review the operative techniques of aortic arch replacement. Aortic arch replacement presents several formidable challenges, as it requires arresting the circulation to the body and replacement of the brachiocephalic vessels with special consideration for protecting the central nervous system.

Total Aortic Arch Replacement in Patients With Arch Vessel Anomalies
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2006The presence of anomalous arch vessels has considerable impact on aortic arch reconstruction techniques and cerebral protection methods when the separated graft technique is adopted to perform total arch replacement. We analyzed our experience of total arch replacement in patients with arch vessel anomalies.Among the 220 patients undergoing total arch ...
