Refractive Index‐Corrected Light‐Sheet Microscopy for Macro‐View Cardiovascular Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A refractive index‐corrected light‐sheet fluorescence microscopy system enables macro‐view cardiovascular imaging across organs, adapting to refractive index variations from different optical clearing protocols. By integrating axial sweeping, multi‐view imaging, and a sealed chamber, it extends the field of view, enhances isotropy, and improves safety.

Rapamycin Alleviates Heart Failure Caused by Mitochondrial Dysfunction and SERCA Hypoactivity in Syntaxin 12/13 Deficient Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rapamycin alleviates heart failure via TFEB and CaMKII pathways in Syntaxin 12/13 deficient models. Stx12 deficiency causes heart failure via impaired iron trafficking to mitochondria, reducing respiratory complexes and sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+‐ATPase (SERCA).

Acute Type A Aortic Dissection Missed as Acute Coronary Syndrome [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2016
Although the aortic dissection is not common, its outcome is frequently fatal, and many patients with aortic dissection die before referral to the hospital or any diagnostic testing.

Endovascular Fenestration/Stenting First Followed by Delayed Open Aortic Repair for Acute Type A Aortic Dissection With Malperfusion Syndrome

open access: yesCirculation, 2018
Background: Immediate open repair of acute type A aortic dissection is traditionally recommended to prevent death from aortic rupture. However, organ failure because of malperfusion syndrome (MPS) might be the most imminent life-threatening problem for a

Gastric pseudoaneurysm in the setting of Loey’s Dietz Syndrome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Loey’s Dietz syndrome is a disorder of connective tissue caused by a mutation in the genes that encode transforming growth factor (TGF) beta receptor 1 and 2.

Vascular smooth muscle Sirtuin-1 protects against aortic dissection during Angiotensin II-induced hypertension [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
BACKGROUND: Sirtuin-1 (SirT1), a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(+)-dependent deacetylase, is a key enzyme in the cellular response to metabolic, inflammatory, and oxidative stresses; however, the role of endogenous SirT1 in the vasculature has not ...

LncRNA Foxo6os as a Novel “ Scaffold” Mediates MYBPC3 in Combating Pathological Cardiac Hypertrophy and Heart Failure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic overview showing that forkhead box O6, opposite strand (Foxo6os) acts as a “scaffold”, directly binding myosin‐binding protein‐C (MYBPC3) and recruiting protein kinase C (PKC‐α) to mediate site‐specific phosphorylation of MYBPC3. This post‐translational modification supports cardiac contraction by regulating L‐type Ca2+ channels, especially ...

Interfacility Transfer of Medicare Beneficiaries With Acute Type A Aortic Dissection and Regionalization of Care in the United States.

open access: yesCirculation, 2019
BACKGROUND The feasibility and effectiveness of delaying surgery to transfer patients with acute type A aortic dissection-a catastrophic disease that requires prompt intervention-to higher-volume aortic surgery hospitals is unknown.
