Aortic Dissection and Dissecting Aortic Aneurysms
Operation was employed in the treatment of 546 patients for complications of aortic dissection during the 32-year period of 1956-1988. Current concepts and operative techniques evolved during this period. Fortunately, about half the patients were treated during the latter 4 years, as modern therapy became standardized.

NARFL Knockout Triggers Ferroptosis‐Driven Vascular Endothelial Dysfunction
NARFL is vital for CIA and oxidative stress resistance. NARFL deletion in HPMEC cells, zebrafish, and mice is lethal and rescued by a Ferroptosis inhibitor. NARFL deficiency disrupted its interaction with CIA proteins, decreased aconitase activity, increased IRP1 activity, induced Fe overload, and led to ferroptosis and oxidative stress, resulting in ...

AbstractAcute aortic dissection is an uncommon but lethal cause of acute chest, back, and abdominal pain. Establishing a timely diagnosis is paramount, as mortality from acute aortic dissection rises by the hour. Physical findings are protean and may include acute aortic valve insufficiency, peripheral pulse deficits, a variety of neurologic deficits ...

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

Single‐Cell Metabolic Imaging Reveals Glycogen‐Driven Adaptations in Endothelial Cells
Single‐cell metabolic imaging of diabetes‐associated endothelial dysfunction by SRS microscopy reveals dynamic glycogen storage and its role in modulating metabolic adaptations under glucose starvation. Abstract Endothelial dysfunction (ED) is a defining feature of diabetes mellitus (DM) and a key contributor to many metabolic and cardiovascular ...

Analysis of Blood Flow in Patient-specific Models of Type B Aortic Dissection
Aortic dissection is the most common acute catastrophic event affecting the aorta. The majority of patients presenting with an uncomplicated type B dissection are treated medically, but 25% of these patients develop subsequent dilatation and aortic ...
