Aortic disease: thoracic endovascular aortic repair

Heart, 2015
Following the first reported case of thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) in 1987, there has been rapid technological development and widespread uptake of this approach for thoracic aortic disease. TEVAR has particular advantages for acute thoracic syndromes and there is continuing development of TEVAR for use in the elective situation.

Aortic valve repair

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1992

Through-and-Through Suture Technique to Stabilize a Sheath in Branched Endovascular Aortic Repair

Journal of Endovascular Therapy, 2019
Purpose: To describe a technique to catheterize antegrade branches of a branched thoracoabdominal endograft from a femoral access with the help of standard sheaths and a vascular suture. Technique: The technique is demonstrated in a patient who underwent

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair

Vascular Surgery, 2001
Newer, minimally invasive catheter-based endovascular technology utilizing stent grafts are currently being evaluated for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair. A retrospective review of all (3 years) consecutive, non-ruptured elective AAA repairs was undertaken to document the results of AAA surgical repair in a modern cohort of patients to allow a ...

Midterm Outcomes of a Prospective, Nonrandomized Study to Evaluate Endovascular Repair of Complex Aortic Aneurysms Using Fenestrated-Branched Endografts

Annals of Surgery, 2021
Supplemental Digital Content is available in the text Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the midterm outcomes of fenestrated and branched endovascular aortic repair (FB-EVAR) of pararenal (PRA) and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms ...

Aortic valve repair

Current Opinion in Cardiology, 2016
Recently, there has been a renewed interest with regard to surgical strategies for aortic valve preservation in the presence of isolated valve disease or concomitant aortic root disease, despite concerns having been raised about the mid/long-term durability of such repair techniques for the aortic valve.

Aortic valve repair in dominant aortic regurgitation

The Japanese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2001
We studied immediate and mid-term results after aortic valve repair.Immediate and mid-term results were studied in 63 patients undergoing aortic valve repair, calculating survival and reoperation free rates.Subjects were 49 men and 14 women aged 15 to 76 years (mean: 53 +/- 17 years). Mean preoperative aortic regurgitation grading of 1 to 4 was 3.2 +/-

Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair

Nursing Standard, 2000
Rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is often a catastrophic event, while elective traditional repair involves major surgery. This article explains AAA development and traditional repair, and introduces a new, less invasive method of repair: endovascular stenting.

Valve Repair in Aortic Regurgitation without Root Dilatation - Aortic Valve Repair

The Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon, 2006
Aortic valve repair was established in the context of aortic root remodeling. Variable results have been reported for isolated valve repair. We analyzed our experience with isolated valve repair and compared the results with those of aortic root remodeling.Between October 1995 and August 2003, isolated repair of the aortic valve was performed in 83 ...
