Histological evaluation of the aortic wall response following endovascular aneurysm repair and endovascular aneurysm sealing

open access: yesJVS - Vascular Science, 2023
Objective: The Nellix endovascular aneurysm sealing (EVAS) system was developed as an alternative to conventional endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) to minimize endoleaks.

Thoracic endovascular aortic repair for the ascending aorta: experience and pitfalls.

open access: yesJournal of Visualized Surgery, 2018
Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) of the ascending aorta is a developing alternative treatment strategy, which currently is specifically aimed at patients who are too high risk for open surgery. TEVAR has been applied to patients with a variety

LIN28B Promotes Cancer Cell Dissemination and Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Children diagnosed with high‐risk neuroblastoma have a 5‐year event‐free survival rate of less than 50% and poor outcomes after recurrence. Deregulation of the LIN28B oncogene can be addressed in these patients. Upregulation of LIN28B is shown to support the metastatic cascade.

Different techniques of distal aortic repair in acute type A dissection: impact on late aortic morphology and reoperation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Objective: To compare three different techniques of distal aortic repair in acute type A (de Bakey type I) aortic dissection and to evaluate their impact on the late morphology of the aortic arch and descending aorta and on the incidence of reoperation ...

Assessment of the quality of life comparison between open and endovascular aortic arch surgery: a pilot study

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery
Background Advancement in endovascular endografts have paved the way to the possibility of performing endovascular aortic arch repair in recent years. This has started to supersede the need for open aortic arch surgery.

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...
