Contribution of Gli1+ Adventitial Stem Cells to Smooth Muscle Cells in Atherosclerosis and Vascular Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
Gli1+ adventitial stem cells (ASCs) have been thought to generate smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in atherosclerosis. Using a dual‐recombinase lineage tracing to exclude ectopic labeling, Wang et al. found that Gli1+ ASCs do not contribute to SMCs in atherosclerotic plaques.

Alkaline Phosphatase‐Activated NIR‐II AIEgens Nanosystem for Surgical and Postoperative Closed‐Loop Therapy of Advanced Osteosarcoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
This study designed a tumor microenvironment‐responsive AIEgen nanoparticle for near‐infrared photoimmunotherapy, which inhibits primary tumors and metastasis by promoting pyroptosis and suppressing aerobic glycolysis. ABSTRACT In advanced osteosarcoma, tumor invasion often prevents complete resection, and immunotherapy is limited by the tumor's ...

Programmable Pentamolecular Cross‐Scale Imaging Reveals the Multiplicative Synergistic Effect of High‐Fat / High‐Salt Diet on Atherosclerosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
This study demonstrates multifactorial lifestyle impacts on the pathogenesis and progression of cardiovascular diseases by a nanofluorescence sensor array for detecting four redox species and protein phosphorylation levels. Through cross‐scale fluorescence imaging of rats with different diets, we revealed that compared with single dietary interventions,

Coronary Slow Flow and No‐Reflow During Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: Contemporary Insights Into Imaging‐Guided Prediction, Prevention, and Management

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 107, Issue 4, Page 1198-1205, March 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Coronary slow flow (SF) and no‐reflow (NR) are clinically significant complications of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), particularly in ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and saphenous vein graft (SVG) interventions. Angiographically defined as impaired myocardial perfusion despite restored epicardial patency, SF/NR ...

A Case of Common Iliac Artery Pseudoaneurysm Formation, Rupture, and Rectal Fistula Caused by Escherichia coli

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT When septic shock is combined with acute lower gastrointestinal bleeding, the rupture and bleeding of a common iliac artery pseudoaneurysm caused by Escherichia coli infection should not be missed. Active surgery combined with strict anti‐infection strategies can save lives.

Diagnostic Challenges and Surgical Management of Ovarian Hydatid Cyst: A Case Report From an Endemic Region and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
Ultrasound imaging demonstrating a multilocular cystic lesion in the left ovary, characterized by internal echogenic septa, prompting further evaluation to assess potential underlying conditions. ABSTRACT Ovarian hydatid cysts are an infrequent presentation of the zoonotic condition caused by Echinococcus granulosus tapeworms. These cysts can easily be

Endovascular Repair of an Ilio‐Iliac Arteriovenous Fistula Presenting as Acute Lower Limb Edema

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT A ruptured iliac aneurysm with an arteriovenous fistula is a life‐threatening disease that requires immediate treatment. However, an arteriovenous fistula due to iliac aneurysm rupture is rare and challenging to diagnose, especially in the absence of classic symptoms.
