The credibility of health economic models for health policy decision-making: the case of population screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm [PDF]
Objectives: To review health economic models of population screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) among elderly males and assess their credibility for informing decision-making. Methods: A literature review

In this work, melt electrowriting is used to fabricate a 3D printed scaffold design that generates engineered cardiac tissues with in‐plane contraction, mimicking natural myocardium. It is shown that these tissues display advanced maturation and functionality.

Traumatic rupture of the aorta : a case report and discussion of clinical features [PDF]
A young female patient was involved in a head-on collision and sustained a rupture of the aortic isthmus. She underwent emergency surgical repair of an aortic pseudo-aneurysm with an interposition graft.

Perspectives on the revised Ghent criteria for the diagnosis of Marfan syndrome [PDF]
Three international nosologies have been proposed for the diagnosis of Marfan syndrome (MFS): the Berlin nosology in 1988; the Ghent nosology in 1996 (Ghent-1); and the revised Ghent nosology in 2010 (Ghent-2).

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Surgical Repair of a Transannular Rupture During Transfemoral Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement
Annular rupture is a rare but life-threatening complication of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Mortality rates are high if immediate intervention, most often necessitating surgical repair, is not performed.

Neural operator learning of heterogeneous mechanobiological insults contributing to aortic aneurysms [PDF]
Thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA) is a localized dilatation of the aorta resulting from compromised wall composition, structure, and function, which can lead to life-threatening dissection or rupture. Several genetic mutations and predisposing factors that contribute to TAA have been studied in mouse models to characterize specific changes in aortic ...

Spontaneous sealing of a type Ia endoleak after ovation stent graft implantation in a patient with on-label aortic neck anatomy [PDF]
We report a case of an early type Ia endoleak after endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) of an abdominal aortic aneurysm by Ovation Stent Graft implantation and spontaneously resolved without further reintervention.
