Aortic valve resuspension in ascending aortic aneurysm repair with aortic insufficiency

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1995
The known complications of prosthetic valve replacement in patients with an ascending aortic aneurysm and secondary aortic regurgitation who frequently have a morphologically normal aortic valve have prompted interest in valve-sparing aneurysm repair procedures. The aim of this study was to define the echocardiographic criteria for identifying suitable

Quadricuspid aortic valve abnormality associated with aortic stenosis and aortic insufficiency

Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, 2002
Quadricuspid aortic valve is a rare congenital malformation of the aortic valve. Transthoracic 2-dimensional echocardiography can delineate aortic valve and diagnose most quadricuspid aortic valves. This article is a report of a quadricuspid aortic valve associated with aortic stenosis and aortic insufficiency diagnosed by transthoracic ...

[Post-traumatic aortic valve insufficiencies].

Archives des maladies du coeur et des vaisseaux, 1992
Aortic regurgitation due to closed chest trauma is rare. It is related either to a valve lesion itself (ruptured cusp) or to trauma of the ascending aorta (subadventitial rupture with prolapse of the underlying aortic valve cusp). Four cases are described, 2 men and 2 women aged 30 to 66 years, after severe injuries in road traffic accidents: three ...

Factitious aortic valve insufficiency.

Canadian Medical Association journal, 1966
One hundred consecutive aortograms, performed with careful attention to recommended technical details, were reviewed to identify cases of "factitious" aortic valve insufficiency, viz. aortic regurgitation seen during aortography for which there is no clinical evidence. Five patients with this condition were identified.

Aortic valve repair for traumatic aortic insufficiency.

Italian heart journal : official journal of the Italian Federation of Cardiology, 2001
Prolapse of a commissural portion of the aortic valve due to partial intimal tear following a blunt chest trauma is a rare condition. Aortic valve repair is a technically demanding operation and the presence of aortic incompetence due to leaflet prolapse often leads to aortic valve replacement.
